Molekule is a science and clean technology start-up that has completely reinvented the air purifier using a revolutionary new technology. Powered by 20 years of R&D, Molekule's technology destroys airborne pollutants (pathogens, VOCs, SOx, NOx, etc) Instead of trying to trap them on filter surfaces.

Molekule is looking for a Contract Research Microbiologist to join our diverse and fast-growing research and development team in Lakeland. Your work will directly enable the Molekule team to continue to create, launch, sell, and support new products that deeply impact human health and well-being across the globe, starting with the air we breathe. The ideal candidate would have experience in a variety of techniques currently used in the testing and development of new technologies in the field of microbiology. We are looking for a candidate with a science background to aid in sampling for chemical and biological analyses and other research activities we conduct.

What you will own

    • Design and conduct experiments in clean room environments for viable and non-viable particles.
    • Responsible for performing all the tests relevant to microbiology lab as required (Sterility, Bioburden, etc.)
    • Responsible for creating and revising SOPs relating to Microbiology and ensuring accuracy
    • Responsible for accurately documenting experiments in lab notebooks.
    • Responsible for maintaining the Microbiology laboratory in an orderly, organized, and sanitary manner.
    • Develop validation processes related to Microbiology or other departments.
    • Write reports and summarize results of investigations and experiments.
    • Assist in any other duties needed to efficiently run the microbiology lab as needed.

What you will bring

    • PhD in Microbiology/biotechnology or related science 
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google apps
    • 3+ years of research experience 
    • Familiar with lab safety procedures and wearing PPE
    • Experience with environmental air sampling
    • Working knowledge of general laboratory skills and aspectic technique
    • Ability to effectively utilize scientific information resources
    • Minimum of 2 research papers in peer reviewed journals
