YOUR MISSION

The Content Technical Director works closely in collaboration with the content production team (directors, graphic designers, 2D/3D animators, and content coordinators) to develop, structure, and optimize the technical aspects of content production in the context of a multimedia project. This person is also in charge of managing and optimizing the Render Farm to ensure the delivery of various productions.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Technical Direction
    • Develop, structure and optimize the content creation pipeline for distribution adapted to different productions ;
    • Establish content creation template files (After Effects, Cinema 4D, etc.) in collaboration with directors, designers, animators, technicians, and integrators to ensure synergy between the environment, its content, and the technology used ;
    • Offer technical support and solutions to the Content Production team ;
    • Contribute to better existing process and communicate new methods within the department ;
    • Contribute to the good understanding and coherence among the various expertise involved in the projects.

    • Render Wrangling
    • Participate in Render Farm management to obtain optimal efficiency ;
    • Manage render requests from artists, identify rendering issues and suggest solutions ;
    • Establish rendering priorities in collaboration with the Content Production team and other Content Technical Directors ;
    • Provide and estimate of rendering delays to Producers and Content Production team ;
    • Responsible for visual quality control and technical problem-solving ;
    • Convert videos to required formats corresponding with the chosen technology for multimedia playback.

YOUR JOURNEY INCLUDES

    • College diploma (DEC) in Multimedia Integration, Postproduction or other related field ;
    • 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in Multimedia, Cinematographic or Televisual Postproduction ;
    • Mastering of 2D and 3D animation production process ;
    • Excellent knowledge of After Effects and Cinema 4D ;
    • Knowledge of Autodesk Maya, Foundry Nuke and Thinkbox Deadline, an asset ;
    • Knowledge of Javascript and Python scripting languages, an asset ;
    • Excellent proficiency of French and a professional level of English, both spoken and written.
