The Purchasing Assistant Analyst will play a key role in the Purchasing team’s ability to support our fast-paced and growing business. This position requires a detail oriented, organized, energetic and strategic thinking individual who has related experience in purchasing, supply chain or Operations/Business Management in food and or related industries.
This position can be hybrid but must be local to the Des Moines, IA area to work onsite at least 3 days/week.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
- Generate and release Purchase orders to assigned suppliers
- Manage Order Confirmations to ensure accuracy against the Purchase Orders, including price, quantity (MOQ), delivery date etc.
- Immediately communicate discrepancies to appropriate supplier
- Communicate effectively across departments to ensure appointments are secured
- Maintain RMA and all retuned merchandise to suppliers for accounting
- Manage transportation schedules with Mom’s Meals transportation department for inbound purchase orders to ensure inventory for production and fulfillment schedules for all locations
- Participate in maintaining Vendor Master Contact List with applicable information
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet goals and deadlines
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with suppliers and customers via phone, email, and in person
Required Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in purchasing and or supply chain within the food or related industry
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to multitask and have excellent organization skills
- Team player; excellent people skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, and or other related fields
- Experience with Microsoft D365
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
- Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
