About Monad:

Cybersecurity is one of the hardest problems facing humanity this decade. We believe that in order to solve this problem, organizations need a unifying layer to connect the security tools that protect their teams, customers and data. When those tools are connected, their value is compounded.

At Monad, our mission is to build this connecting layer. We seek to make every tool shine, and to help organizations maximize the value of the technology they need to protect their teams, customers and data.

As a remote company, Monad thrives on collaboration, teamwork, and a transparent environment of proactive communication and responsiveness. We value and respect both our professional and personal spaces. Family, health, and general well-being are our key values.

We’re hiring Senior Software Engineers for our core team to help us build a high performance, security oriented, data platform.  In this role you will help to architect, and build, the services and systems that lie at the heart of Monad, ingesting huge volumes of security data.  This role is fully remote. We have no physical offices, but we do have yearly offsites to get to know each other in person too!

What we need from you:
At least 5+ years of experience in backend engineering.  You’ve written and supported services in production
Mastery of at least one language (Ideally Go, as we’re writing our new platform in it.  If you’re willing to learn however, we’re willing to help)
An understanding of the tradeoffs that fast moving startups need to make, and a willingness to be flexible in your approach to building the services we need
A pragmatic approach to engineering. You enjoy “boring technology” because you know it’s rock solid and lets you focus on building interesting things with it
A bias towards action; at an early stage startup we need engineers who’ll “get things done” and are excited by autonomy

In the first three months you’ll:
Learn go, or if you’re experienced, help the rest of us learn Go through code reviews and mentoring
Help us design the second generation of our platform, aiming to increase our performance and scalability. (The first iteration was written in Python)
Build core functionality of the new platform, working closely with the rest of engineering
Help us build integration testing for the new platform, as well as load testing functionality, so we can be confident in our performance
Talk to our existing customers and design partners to help ensure we’re building to meet their needs.  This won’t eat up all your time, but we think it’s important for engineers to know our customers

Salary Range: $150,000 - $250,000 (but please do talk to us regardless of this, we can be flexible for the right candidate)

$150,000 - $250,000 a year
