Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Ownership of US payroll department operations.
· Manage retirement plan as it relates to payroll while ensuring compliance and controls are achieved
· Manage weekly and bi-weekly payroll through ADP Workforce submission for the US subsidiary of MOO to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately, timely and comply with federal, state and local legal requirements
· Maintain all payroll data and ensure accuracy
· Confirm payroll reconciles where applicable prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
· Ensure payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, commissions, bonuses, etc are always recorded correctly within the payroll system
· Work with HR Representative to set up employee cost-share deductions in pay
· Manage 401(k) deferral elections, deferral changes and loan re-payments in payroll system
· Run and prepare 401(k) payroll reports and complete wire schedule weekly
· Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
· Monitor timeclock system to ensure that all timecards are checked and approved by manager
· Maintain vacation and sick leave balances and ensure time is captured in payroll 
· Complete set up and testing of data bridges from ADP to other systems
· Distribute monthly commission reports and process quarterly commission pay-out
· Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
· Update and reconcile monthly bank statements from ADP
· Work with the finance team to process journal entries and analyze output for upload to financial reporting system
· Responsible for ad hoc reporting and analysis as required, including proactive review and analysis of payroll and other compensation activity
· Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, 1099 etc)
· Responsible for ensuring that the year-end processing and distribution of tax statements are handled timely and accurately for each country
· Liaise closely with HR and external payroll provider ADP
· Finance liaison for HR and Benefits and payroll & 401(k) audits
· Respond to employee queries regarding payroll issues and concerns in a timely manner
· Plan, develop, and implement policies and auditing procedures to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
· Ensure controls are in place, functioning and documented
· Maintain payroll guidelines by writing policies and procedures and updating as necessary on-going
· Document and provide guidance on process improvements
· Monitor existing and new legislation impacting company compliance. Advising management on any needed action
· Analyze payroll reports to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and ensure information is correct based on tax and benefit regulations
· Coordinate with the Human Resources team on payroll related actions ensuring payroll practices are in compliance with employment and benefits practices
· Ensure proper taxation of employer paid benefits
· Provide audit support in regard to the preparation of payroll work papers
· Partner with Human Resources in the completion of the yearly retirement plan audit
· Prepare and submit census data to retirement plan administrators to ensure annual compliance requirements are met
· Lead and direct the RFP (Request for Proposal) process to assess potential new payroll system partners for the US business
· Conduct a needs assessment to capture and understand current gaps and challenges, as well as leverage prior data collected 
· Project manage ensuring all key stakeholders are involved and can come to a decision on next steps
· Should system be selected, lead and manage the implementation process

· Working knowledge of payroll best practices
· Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
· Advanced Excel Skills
· Working knowledge of ADP 
· Excellent time management and deadline consciousness
· Experience in payroll system implementation 
· Strong work ethic, high degree of professionalism and ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
· Strong knowledge and experience working with benefit and 401(k) plans, administration and compliance from the payroll side  
· 5-7 years managing a multi-state payroll department, including staff
· Bachelor’s in Accounting or equivalent preferred
· High-energy, “self-sufficient” individual with an established track record of success on various levels within a faced paced organization
· A highly organized team player
· Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to get along well with diverse personalities
· Excellent written and oral communication skills that enable clear and concise communication to all levels of the organization
· Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to prioritize and delegate appropriately
