We are seeking a smart and results-oriented People Generalist with Dutch employment (law) expertise to join our People Team and be based in Almere, Netherlands. You will play a key role in managing our local employeesā experience day to day and ensuring our HR ways of working are effective, aligned with our company's goals and values and comply with local employment law and cultural expectations.

As the sole People team representative in the Netherlands, you'll play a vital role in fostering collaboration both locally and across the Group People team based in the UK. Your mission is to harmonise our approach by finding the sweet spot between global consistency and local adaptation tailored to the Dutch-specific needs/regulatory requirements. Active listening, persuasive communication, and bridging cultural nuances between the Netherlands and the UK will be crucial to your success in this exciting and impactful position.

What you'll be Doing:
- Manage the payroll process in the Netherlands working with external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Policy development and implementation: Manage the right HR policies and ways of working
- Own and execute day to day HR operations including contracts, onboarding, benefits, support, and offboarding
- Employee Relations: Provide credible, useful day to day guidance to our employees and managers in line with our policies and local employment law
- Legal compliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of Dutch labor law and its implications for HR decisions - suggest any changes to our global policies, ways of working or communications that are important for compliance
- Collaborating with the People Partnering team to support HR Business Partners on People Plans affecting the Netherlands workforce, ensuring clear communication that enables them to build strong, effective relationships locally.
- Manage the payroll process in the Netherlands working with external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Benefits administration: Manage benefits utilisation, supplier relationships, and administration.
- Review and optimise HR processes: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness, focusing on key milestone events like onboarding, annual reviews, promotions, and offboarding.
- Technology and systems management: Own people systems and reporting, ensuring data accuracy and leveraging available technologies to enhance employee value proposition.
About You:
- Fluency in Dutch and English
- HBO or Bachelor qualification in Human Resources
- Solid experience as an HR generalist or HR Manager in a global fast-paced environment (experience in e-commerce, media, or technology preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Dutch employment law
- Experience with Works Council as a stakeholder
- Credibility - such that you can work well individually, take ownership, and educate others (on People matters / on the right local approach)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, influence and build relationships.
- Proven track record of managing payroll.
- Great attention to detail and delivering what is required, on time, to a high standard.
- Creative yet pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to prioritise, make the right judgement calls, adapt, and thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
