What You’ll Be Doing

Data Science is becoming an increasingly important value driver across the business. As such, you’ll have the chance to work with a diverse range of stakeholders and business functions. This could be anything from finance to product, to marketing; we add value wherever we can! Because the Data Science team is small, we have a significant breadth and depth of opportunity as a team. This means that no matter which function a project is for, you can be sure that it leads to a tangible impact. A wide range of stakeholders ladders up to a wide range of projects. Such projects could provide opportunities to test and develop skills across forecasting, NLP, predictive modelling, clustering, causal inference, and many more classes of project.No matter what the project, you will have the opportunity to take a leading role in its delivery. From scoping the project with the relevant business leads to ensuring the solution is fit for purpose and achievable. You'll be responsible for delivering the project and ensuring a consistent experience for our end-user, and through each step, evangelising and communicating.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Work across diverse projects in the area of Personalised Content & Promotions
    • Working collaboratively with teams in Product, Engineering, MLOps, Commercial & Marketing to develop solutions
    • Develop end-to-end solutions from conception & data collection through to integration with customer facing systems to be tested
    • Develop high quality, modularised code with a view to contributing to a codebase which can be shared between projects
    • Oversee the experimentation design, implementation & write-up for productionised initiatives
    • Undertake and actively provide code reviews on colleagues' work
    • Look to promote and advocate your work and that of the Data Science function at different levels within the business
    • Mentoring and providing advice to junior colleagues & wider members of the Data Team
    • Be continuously researching around advancements in the area of personalisation and broader, to bring new ideas to the function. This will be through L&D as well as attending conferences

You'll be a great addition to the team if you:

    • Demonstrable experience within Data-Science with practical application within several of the following: Predictive modelling, clustering, NLP, photoscience, recommendations, dimensionality reduction & feature engineering, model deployment, forecasting, causal inference.
    • Excellent skills with Python and SQL.
    • Experience with version control workflows (Git)
    • Excellent stakeholder management.
    • Create a compelling narrative throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Strong commercial acumen - we want someone who can understand stakeholders needs/reservations and present accommodating solutions


    • Experience of working in a fast-paced eCommerce or Retail environment
    • Experience working on personalisation initiatives using techniques such as uplift modelling
    • Experience of AB and MVT experimentation, in particular building roadmaps and test design 
    • Graduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related technical field
    • Experience using AWS ML deployment infrastructure; Sagemaker
