About the role

What You’ll Be Doing

Moonpig Group is seeking a talented and driven Financial Accountant (part qualified) to join our Financial Control team for the Greetz brand on a 9 month fixed term contract.

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, working closely with the finance team in Amsterdam and London, as well as collaborating with various departments across the business to help them understand their numbers.

This role can either be based in Amsterdam or our London office on a hybrid basis (2 days a week on average).

Key Responsibilities:

    • Producing monthly management accounts including commentary on actuals vs budget
    • Owning the inventory accounting within Greetz, working with operations staff to understand and improve their processes
    • Producing opex reporting for various departments, and being the first point of contact for senior management
    • Performing balance sheet reconciliations, owning our financial controls and assisting with the external audit
    • Support for various improvement projects, such as streamlining accounting processes and the roll out of new systems and tools within the organisation

About you:

    • Part qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent (for the UK); HBO of MBO+ / finance, accountancy, economics (Netherlands)
    • Proactive and enthusiastic approach to your work and enjoy working as part of a team
    • An analytical and problem-solving mind-set to understand, challenge and ask the relevant questions
    • Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise and high attention to detail
    • Excellent Excel skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable working with senior management and non-finance colleague
