This role will be based in our Washington, DC office.

The Role:
Morning Consult is looking for an entrepreneurial, business-oriented contracts and deal administrator to support its Legal team. The Contracts Administrator will assist in managing the life cycle of the Company’s commercial contracts from cradle to grave, including serving as a liaison between the Legal and Sales teams, helping the Legal team overcome operational challenges and supporting the Deal Desk function as needed on intake management and other strategic priorities.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate an entrepreneurial ethos toward improving internal processes and documentation. Specifically, the Contracts Administrator will execute the following: facilitate all necessary reviews of company contracts including troubleshooting Company’s contract lifecycle management software with internal personnel, organize and track all company contracts and contractual obligations, assist in the development and improvement of legal operation workflows and processes and help on ad hoc projects that come with a scaling, high-growth company.

In this role, you will experience the legal and operational ins and outs that affect a high-growth company. The Contracts Administrator will encounter opportunities over time to expand this role and contribute to the Company’s overall growth.

The Legal Team at Morning Consult:
The Legal team is part of the Operations division at Morning Consult. We work closely with teams across all divisions within Morning Consult to ensure that the company’s activities comply with applicable legal, regulatory and contractual obligations. Our lawyers are problem solvers, and we leverage those skills to help stakeholders achieve key strategic business objectives within the context of dynamic international and domestic compliance regimes.

What You'll Be Working On:

    • Assisting with SaaS and services full contract life cycle management (CLM), including receipt of contract requests related to new business and renewals
    • Serving as a Legal team liaison to the Sales team and other company personnel requiring contract review services and field majority of day-to-day inquiries regarding the contract review process and status
    • Responsible for data entry and document management — ensuring proper contract logging and filling/archiving of executed contracts, helping develop and manage contract reporting, facilitating data and report delivery and analysis, auditing and verifying accuracy of data across various shared platforms and tools
    • Working closely with other General & Administrative teams to troubleshoot contract processing logistical issues and data flow processes related to Salesforce, DocuSign or otherwise, and identify process synergies
    • Maintaining integrity and efficiency of contract processing — ensuring contracts are reviewed, approved and executed in accordance with internal policies and in a timely manner and, when necessary, managing the expectations of all interested parties
    • Working with internal legal stakeholders to help design and edit department correspondence, policies and procedures to facilitate ease of user engagement within the Company's intranet

About You and What You've Done:

    • Bachelor's degree with excellent academic credentials
    • Some legal experience (paralegal or JD) is ideal, but high-achieving recent college graduates will be considered as well
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strict attention to minutia (must “sweat” the details)
    • Experience working with CRM software (ideally Salesforce) and CLM software
    • Extremely practical and business-oriented approach to your work
    • Ability to handle competing deadlines and shifting priorities with minimal supervision
    • Willing to take feedback, learn and grow; an ethos of continuous self-improvement
    • Software and technology background is a plus

The expected salary range for this position is $57,800 - $88,800, with a midpoint of $73,300.

In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role.
