The Role:
As a Senior Product Manager at Morning Consult, you'll be a key contributor to our mission to equip decision-makers with superior, high-frequency data and rigorous analysis. This position is a fusion of problem-solving, innovation and customer-centric focus. Working in sync with our engineering managers and designers, you will focus on identifying user problems and employing the latest technology to devise solutions that deliver customer value and drive business growth.

While you’ll develop deep expertise in one area in this role, you’ll also have the opportunity to think holistically about the Morning Consult ecosystem of products, constantly looking for ways to integrate, innovate and enhance our offerings. Your ideas have the potential to chart a new course on everything from our sample collection strategy to our B2B SaaS platform to our consumer news and analysis product.

The Product Team at Morning Consult:
The Product Team at Morning Consult thrives on collaboration and innovation. We are a small but closely-knit group of high performers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of product thinking. Our mission centers on defining strategy, prioritizing initiatives for maximum impact and facilitating seamless communication between engineering teams, business stakeholders and client-facing roles. We act as the voice of product across the company and tirelessly share necessary context from customers, stakeholders and technical experts. What You'll Be Working On:

    • Collaborating closely with Engineering Managers and Product Designers to lead a team in identifying and prioritizing compelling problem statements
    • Plotting a course for progress by setting ambitious but feasible goals for your team. You will work with Product leaders to shape portfolio goals that align with our company's OKRs
    • Translating complex concepts into an actionable roadmap, you'll ensure that product goals and features are clearly communicated and understood by customers, stakeholders and team members
    • Leading your team to develop innovative solutions by tactfully questioning assumptions to guarantee projects deliver rapid, iterative customer value
    • Organizing and prioritizing a product backlog, detailing clear user stories and acceptance criteria. As a mentor, you'll coach your team to write robust tickets
    • Defining and refining metrics to measure success as you make progress on your roadmap. Using qualitative and quantitative data to report progress and steer data-informed product decisions
    • Diving into exciting special projects beyond your team's scope. These ventures will open up opportunities to drive additional business value and challenge your core PM skills
    • Embodying our ethos of “building bigger than ourselves,” proactively identifying and addressing issues throughout the company. You’re a leader on your team, but also within the product/engineering division and beyond, building bridges to solve larger problems more rapidly
    • Performing such other tasks and duties as may be required or assigned from time to time in the Company’s discretion

About You and What You’ve Done:

    • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS and/or on external API or data products
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment and operating beyond one team or assigned work
    • Strong analytical skills, with a proficiency in interpreting and utilizing data to drive decision-making
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner across different audiences
    • Demonstrated experience in customer interaction, with the ability to balance an empathetic understanding of user needs with delivering business results
    • Willing to take feedback, learn and grow; an ethos of continuous self-improvement

The expected salary range for this position is $124,900 - $205,500, with a midpoint of $165,200.

In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role.
