We’re looking for a Creative Project Manager to join one of the best firms in the do-gooder business in our Advertising Practice Area.

    • We run online advocacy and fundraising campaigns. Great big ones you read about in the news and tiny ones you’ve never heard of that are saving lives. Lots of politically progressive groups – Planned Parenthood, League of Conservation Voters, PETA. Environmental groups such as National Geographic and Oceana, and cultural organizations we love, like the American Museum of Natural History.
    • Day-to-day, we’re figuring out how to recruit supporters, influence policy, raise money, hold corporations accountable, make the most of news moments, and leave no idea unconsidered that might engage regular people in the world around them. Critical to our success is making sure we’re continuously taking advantage of all opportunities using both tried and true and cutting edge digital advertising technologies.

Here’s what you’ll be doing in this role:

    • Work directly with digital designers, outside vendors, client teams, and clients to route advertising creative from conception through approval.  
    • Do a thorough and detailed review of creative to ensure in incorporates all direction, feedback, and is within our clients' brand guidelines.
    • Use our internal task management systems to manage teams to meet all deadlines.  Develop and maintain internal processes to improve the creative process that are focused on efficiency and high quality work. Maintain M+R’s creative portfolio and our internal database of creative examples/inspiration.
    • Handle basic creative edits and management tasks within ad platforms, for example making simple copy edits in Photoshop or uploading creatives into Google Campaign Manager.
    • Do your part to help us run smoothly - including carefully tracking all of your client hours as well as pitching in with small office management responsibilities.

Skills and experiences you should have:

    • 3-5 years of creative project management experience with a focus on digital production and digital design.
    • Basic Photoshop proficiency - you can make minor changes, such as text edits.
    • Acute attention to detail - you don’t drop the ball.
    • Ability to prioritize your time across projects that have varying complexity and competing deadlines.
    • Capability to tackle big projects by breaking them down into smaller pieces.
    • Experience working with others to implement processes, systems, and tools that increase accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
    • Strong ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and logically. 
    • Proven track record to successfully pick up new skills on the job.
    • Able to manage up and across to secure what you need to get the job done.
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with tight turnarounds.
    • Thoughtfulness, empathy, and self-awareness. You go out of your way to help others and look out for your colleagues.
    • Passion for the role that digital advertising plays in creating change in the world. You are excited by the idea of working across many issues.
    • Ability to set goals and drive toward them - never missing deadlines, and always producing high-quality work.
    • Recognition that feedback is a part of learning and growth and are committed to both seeking and receiving feedback.
    • Preference to work in a team. You are able to do the hard work of seeing things from others’ perspectives.

Skills and experiences that are preferred, but not required:

    • Agency experience, including direct client management.
    • Familiarity with creative best practices for direct response advertising.
    • Familiarity managing rich media/HTML5/video projects.
    • Familiarity with tools like Swayable and Smartly.

Salary, benefits, and some perks:

    • This is an exempt status, unionized position, represented by the Washington-Baltimore News Guild. The salary for this position starts at $66,000, with eligibility for an approximate $4,900 year-end bonus depending on start date and firmwide performance. Exact salary is dependent on experience and new staff rarely start above this salary. We also offer a generous benefits package, plus some perks:
