Responsibilities

    • Plan, oversee, coordinate and prioritize activities of a team of Stress Engineers to achieve department quality, schedule and cost goals.
    • Provide technical engineering leadership to all team members to accomplish the Program requirements.
    • Define individual goals and expected results for engineering employees in order to support the group and department.
    • Supervise the preparation of formal technical engineering compliance documents in order to fulfill the certification requirements.
    • Apply Achieving Engineering Excellence and other methodologies to implement and improve business processes, enhance customer satisfaction and meet strategic goals.
    • Ensure effective management of all aspects of technical engineering associated to Structures, Systems Installations and Integration by closely working with other engineering departments, internal and external customers, and Structural partners/Suppliers.
    • Work closely with the Structures DAD to continuously develop skills of team members through coaching, employee training and development, ongoing assessment and feedback with the objective to build and sustain an environment that supports cooperation, employee engagement and trust.
    • Maintaining technical knowledge and awareness of developments related to airframe structure.
    • Supporting manpower planning activities and budget preparation.

Requirements

    • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
    • You have a minimum of 15 years of experience in airframe primary and secondary structural analysis including systems installations.
    • You have an understanding of airframe configuration optimization, loads, stress analysis, materials, manufacturing processes, weight and balance and structural in-service requirements. 
    • You have proficiency in classical analysis methods and FEM based analysis tools
    • You have working knowledge of MSC Patran/NASTRAN and Altair Hyperworks/Hypermesh engineering software is required.
    • You have the ability to perform sizing and support analysis activities for design changes, improvements, and new aircraft development programs.
    • You have the ability to write structural substantiation reports, that meet technical compliance to program, and certifying authority, requirements and guidelines.
    • You have an understanding of civil aircraft certification rules and experience in certification procedures.
    • You are a positive team leader with strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
