Mujin is the future of industrial robotic systems in production and distribution environments. Our technology gives robots perception and awareness, enabling them to take on more advanced tasks. Our aim is to revolutionize the use of robotics within industry to free human resources from labor intensive tasks to focus on more intellectual challenges.

As a Mechanical Drafter at Mujin, you will be integral to our hardware engineering team, assisting in the rapid design and development of complex robotic systems. This role is heavily centered on the use of SolidWorks for detailed 3D modeling, assemblies, and the creation of manufacturing drawings, starting from initial concepts and layout designs in AutoCAD. Your expertise will be crucial in accelerating our development process by producing precise and detailed drawings that meet the rigorous standards and specific requirements of our engineers and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

    • SolidWorks: Expertly manage and execute detailed 3D modeling, assemblies, and the creation of precise manufacturing drawings for robotic hardware applications using SolidWorks. This includes developing intricate designs that align with the technical and functional specifications provided by our engineers.

    • AutoCAD: Utilize AutoCAD for the initial creation of layout drawings and concepts. This early-stage work is critical for conceptualizing designs and obtaining necessary project approvals before proceeding to more detailed SolidWorks modeling.

    • Iterative Design and Flexibility: Engage in a dynamic, iterative design process, displaying a high degree of flexibility. Be prepared to make and manage changes as project requirements evolve, ensuring that the final designs are optimized for both form and function.

    • Documentation: Meticulously prepare manufacturing documentation for design projects. This includes keeping detailed and accurate records of design iterations, final specifications, and any adjustments made during the design process, ensuring clarity and continuity across project phases.

Qualifications:

    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with SolidWorks dealing with large assemblies, in a manufacturing setting is essential.
    •
    • Education: Degree in Industrial Design, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory if you have the skills.

    • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in SolidWorks, including parts, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings. Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D designs. Knowledge of GD&T principles and their application in design.

    • Mechatronics Systems: Experience in or knowledge of mechatronics systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic) is highly desirable.

    • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to follow specific instructions meticulously and identify potential design issues before they arise.

    • Adaptability: Capable of adapting to changing project requirements and feedback, with a strong willingness to revise and improve designs as needed.

    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Since our expansion to North America, we have encountered substantial demand for our groundbreaking robotics technology. If you're seeking a job in cutting-edge robotics and automation, Mujin offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology and be at the forefront of the industry's advancements. As part of the Mujin team, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the leaders in the robotics space, as we work together to change the face of industrial automation.
