Mujin is looking for a highly skilled Service Technician with extensive experience and knowledge of electrical power distribution systems to join our team. You’ll collaborate with a world-class team of doers and dive into challenging technical problems to deliver our solutions. This role requires a combination of technical know-how, problem solving, curiosity, innovation, leadership, and communication. You’ll need troubleshooting and analysis skills and an understanding of and ability to adopt best practices. 

Responsibilities:

    • Set up industrial robots, demo cells, end effectors, cameras, lighting, compressed air systems, robot controllers, and vision systems 
    • Travel to support systems deployed to customer sites 
    • Assist with the installation and configuration of Mujin systems at customer sites 
    • Perform on-site commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment at customer facilities, ensuring optimal performance and functionality 
    • Conduct preventative and corrective electrical/maintenance activities 
    • Assemble various systems for automated production equipment, including electrical sensor/actuator systems, fluid and hydraulic systems, robotic cells, conveyance systems, and automated assembly systems 
    • Problem-solve and troubleshoot with team members 
    • Support PLC and robot program updates and modifications 
    • Troubleshoot and repair purchased equipment as needed 
    • Troubleshoot and repair custom production equipment, including semi-automatic equipment, robotic cells, automation equipment, PLCs, and control enclosures 
    • Fabricate and wire electrical enclosures according to engineering schematics and documentation 

Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent 
    • Preferred: AAS in a related field such as engineering, robotics, or electronics 
    • Preferred: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in automated systems, preferably in robotics 
    • Familiarity with safety protocols 
    • Proficiency in repairing, maintaining, and adjusting electromechanical actuators, pneumatics, and industrial sensors used in automation 
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight 
    • Positive attitude, adaptability to change, curiosity, and keen observational skills 
    • Availability to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays as needed 
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities 
    • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the year for onsite support and customer engagement 

Preferred:

    • Hands-on experience with six and seven-axis robot arm tasks, conveyor belt systems, industrial sensors, manufacturing, CNC, and robotic tooling 
    • Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and relevant programming software 
    • Proficiency in reading mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, fluid, and hydraulic schematics 
    • Experience with welding 
    • Understanding of industrial ethernet protocols (Ethernet/IP, MODBUS) and serial communication bus protocols (RS-232, RS-485) 
    • Experience with programming 6-axis robots
