Mujin is looking for a highly skilled electrician with experience and knowledge of electrical power distribution systems to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be exposed to the robotics/industrial automation industry, while utilizing your knowledge and expertise as an electrician. You’ll need troubleshooting and analysis skills and an understanding of and ability to adopt best practices. You’ll collaborate with a world-class team of doers and dive into challenging technical problems to deliver our solutions. 

Responsibilities:

    • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment, such as wiring, lighting, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, panels, generators, etc. 
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems and faults using appropriate tools and equipment 
    • Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and codes to plan and execute electrical projects 
    • Fabricate and wire electrical enclosures according to engineering schematics and documentation  
    • Adhere to safety rules and regulations and use personal protective equipment 
    • Keep records of work performed and materials used 
    • Ensure that all work completed complies with local, state, and national electrical code. 
    • Execute emergency, planned and preventative maintenance work on electrical / mechanical equipment. 
    • Ability to read interpret, maintain / revise schematics, diagrams and specifications for repair or installation of facility equipment and systems. 
    • Prepare control panel workshop and build control panels 

In addition, as a Robotics Technician, the following:

    • Set up industrial robots, demo cells, end effectors, cameras, lighting, compressed air, robot controllers, and vision systems  
    • Execute robot systems demos and projects for customers  
    • Provide support for systems deployed to remote customer sites  
    • Support installation and configuration of Mujin controller and other equipment at customer sites  
    • Preventative and corrective electrical maintenance activities  
    • Build various systems for automated production equipment, including items like electrical sensor/actuator systems, fluid and hydraulic systems, robotic cells, conveyance systems, automated assembly systems  
    • Support PLC and robot program updates and modifications  
    • Troubleshoot and repair custom production equipment, which can include semi-automatic equipment, robotic cells, automation equipment, PLCs, and control enclosures

Requirements:

    • 5+ years of experience as an electrician with relevant electrical industry certification 
    • Knowledge of electrical theory, principles, practices, codes, and standards 
    • Knowledge of electrical safety protocols 
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and codes 
    • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, testers, and other electrical equipment 
    • Familiarity with medium to high voltage 
    • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment 
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills 
    • Flexible to work extended hours, weekends or holidays as needed 
    • Possess a valid US driver's license and a willingness to travel up to 15% of the year 
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs 

Preferred:

    • A.A.S in Electrical Engineering Technology preferred 
    • Experience reading mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, fluid, and hydraulic schematics  
    • Knowledge of and practical understanding of electrical standards, such as NFPA79 and UL508A
