We are in search for a Senior Technical Writer on a 3-month contract basis, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring comprehensive documentation of our data structures and tables. Collaborating closely with our development teams, you'll craft detailed data dictionaries to define key elements, facilitating seamless understanding and usage across various projects and teams. With your expertise in technical writing and database concepts, you'll drive the creation of clear and concise documentation, empowering both technical and non-technical stakeholders to navigate our data landscape confidently.

You will:

    • Collaborate closely with development teams to understand data structures, data fields, and data tables used within databases.
    • Develop comprehensive data dictionaries to define data fields and data tables, including descriptions, data types, and relationships.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand data usage needs across various projects and teams.
    • Organize and present complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner so that both technical and non-technical individuals can understand.
    • Ensure that the data dictionary remains accurate and up-to-date as databases and data structures evolve over time.
    • Facilitate training sessions or workshops to educate teams on how to use the data dictionary effectively.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to continually improve and enhance the data dictionary based on feedback and evolving requirements.

You have:

    • Proficiency in technical writing with a focus on creating clear and concise documentation.
    • Strong understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and data structures.
    • Ability to work closely with database development teams and understand complex database schemas.
    • Excellent communication skills to gather requirements and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in defining data fields and data tables.
    • Familiarity with data dictionary standards and best practices.
    • Experience in organizing and presenting technical information in a user-friendly format.
    • Ability to facilitate training sessions and workshops to educate teams on data dictionary usage.
    • Collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • Adaptability to evolving database structures and requirements.
    • Problem-solving skills to address challenges and identify opportunities for improvement in data documentation processes.

$37 - $53 an hour
A reasonable estimate of the hourly range for this role is $37 to $53. In order to provide a competitive compensation package, Mulligan Funding takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to market compensation data, relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications.
