We're Mytos and we build machines that automate the growing of human and animal cells. Our work has a massive real-world impact. We help teams in drug development and cell therapy accelerate their research so that drugs and new cures can get to patients earlier.

We are at the beginning of the century of biology. AI driven drug discovery companies are pioneering new methods of discovering medicine and cell therapies are showing great promise at tackling cancers far more effectively than anything we have seen before. These new technologies are built on one of the greatest tech platforms that humans have access to: the cell.

But right now cells are still grown in a manual, tedious and incredibly time consuming way; by hand by trained scientists standing under hoods in the lab for hours a day. At Mytos we spent hundreds of hours observing this and we used a human-centred approach to designing a new solution to this from scratch. With our device our users can now grow and monitor cell batches from the cloud, allowing them to step away from the pipette and focus on the science.

Mytos is on a rapid trajectory. After going through YCombinator in California we built out our team of mechanical and software engineers and biologists. In the past 6 months we have had more sales than in the entire history of the company, taking us to millions of dollars of preorders. We would love to have you join us at this stage of our journey.

Mytos is currently a team of 23 scientists and engineers within 18 months aim to have tripled the team across existing and new functions. Our headcount growth comes off the back of a huge uptick in pre-orders for our new cell culture automation device. This role is a holistic one that looks after talent acquisition, development and retention. Successful recruitment of high-quality people who join us and continue to grow is paramount to us fulfilling our mission. You will report directly to the founders.

What you'll do:

    • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing Tech Talent Acquisition team that will hire across hardware, software, biology, operations and commercial roles.
    • Translate the business strategy into clear headcount growth deliverables.
    • Develop from scratch the Mytos employer brand and value proposition. Build and activate campaigns. Create a fast-moving and continuously improving hiring team that seeks to always “raise the bar” with each new hire whilst upholding our commitment to a fair and equitable process.
    • Build a People Plan that supports our team excelling in their role and career. This People plan will include hiring criteria and processes, talent reviews and succession planning, promotion processes and career paths, Leadership assessment, and Leadership development.
    • Build and improve people operations processes as appropriate for our stage

About you:

    • Proven Tech recruitment experience with demonstrable leadership having scaled Tech functions from 10s to 100s of employees.
    • Experience in a fast-growth tech scale-up or start-up.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, preferably in a fast-growth, tech scale-up business.
    • Ability to build/scale/run highly operational systems and processes to deliver on hard and ambitious targets, with a constant focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Built and improved internal talent development and retention programmes (levelling, L&D, Career Progression Programmes)
