You rarely get the chance to change an industry. But that's the position in which we find ourselves. Join us, and you’ll unleash scientists, accelerate their research and help get vaccines and drugs to patients earlier.

We’re Mytos and we’re automating cell culture, one of the most painful and important processes in biology.

We’re a low-ego, high-urgency team of 21, backed by Y Combinator, the most successful startup accelerator in the world. Ours is a startup R&D environment that uses the latest design and product thinking to solve complex mechanical engineering problems. You’ll increase the quality & throughput of machines for use internally/externally. You’ll work alongside our research team and focus on successfully delivering the device to our end users.

This is an opportunity to work on projects at the interface of engineering and biology. When you join us, you’ll get to:

    • Work alongside our engineering team to assemble/commission new prototypes, our machines & our fluidic consumables.
    • Respond to and diagnose equipment breakdowns / assembly problems, resolving issues and actioning repairs.
    • Work closely with manufacturers, suppliers and internal departments in finding ways to improve process and increase machine reliability and performance.
    • Refine our test rigs, quality processes and data, and harness them to help us move faster.
    • Create detailed documentation & work instructions to aid internal teams & transfer to external assembly partners.
    • Help shape our assembly engineering culture and processes so that we keep continually improving. You’ll enjoy the autonomy, accountability and customer-focus that we bring to our work.

We’d love to hear from you if:

    • You're a fast learner and a great communicator who can support the engineering needs of the team and may come from a variety of technical backgrounds. You’ve previously worked on the assembly of complex electromechanical systems.
    • You take great pride in a high level of craftsmanship in the work you do.
    • You’ve developed assembly instructions, set up new processes & have fabrication experience.
    • You have experience of soldering & preparation of cable harnessing to a high level of quality.
