Overview
Our client, an international luxury retailer of body, face, and home products, originated from France. They have stores in over 90 countries worldwide, with their regional office located in Hong Kong. They are currently seeking an individual with a strong passion for data. This person will contribute to their enterprise data platform and data infrastructure, laying the groundwork for business reporting and data science.
What You Will Do
- Manage and rationalise both structured and unstructured data, integrating multiple data sources into a unified data platform that meets business and technical needs.
- Consistently strive for strategic or optimal solutions, avoiding short-term fixes whenever possible.
- Collaborate with both local and remote teams in defining problems, identifying issues, and developing work plans based on problem-solving principles and past experience.
- Adhere to organization's existing data standards and design, assessing whether there's a need to expand or improve them based on local specificities.
- Recognize the discrepancies between business requirements and data architecture, and suggest solutions to minimize or eliminate these gaps.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring effective communication and escalation processes across all projects.
- Work closely with other team members globally on all data related tasks
- Deliver a strong, easily maintainable solution that is designed to accommodate future needs and data volumes.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with 3+ years of experience in a data engineering or related role
- Experience in a Retail, e-Commerce, and CRM environment is a plus
- Extensive experience working with SQL
- Strong experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL
- Knowledge or experience handling large datasets on cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift)
- Familiarity with Tableau, Cognos
- Experience with relational DBMS and Python is a plus (MS SQL, PostgreSQL)
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
