The Senior Buyer position will be responsible for ensuring the timely purchase, delivery, and receipt of designated products at the lowest overall cost to the organization. This person will be expected to apply solid knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures to ensure that the right products are available at the right time, price, and quality.

Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all day to day purchasing activities while managing the inventory expectations of the department
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels and days on hand
    • Communicate any out of stock issues or concerns with Senior Buyer and the Associate Director of Supply Chain
    • Support with the vendor onboarding process
    • Work with the Finance Team and help support AP process
    • Support Just in Time and FIFO process
    • Support audits and order fulfillment as needed
    • Inform Senior Buyer of any aged or dead inventory
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Retail
    • Address and help reconcile any order discrepancies with the store, compliance, vendor and accounting team
    • Communicate any changes in the delivery schedule with the District and Store Manager
    • Adjust store orders based on promotions and seasonality
    •  
      Production
    • Order items used in day to day production as well as research and purchase one off items as requested with proper management approval
    • Communicate any changes in delivery schedule with Inventory Supervisor as well as the team member who ordered the item.
    • Adjust orders based on usage changes in production
    • Coordinate and communicate directly with Grow, Production and MIP
    • Help implement/define ordering expectations to new departments/employees
    • Report any compliance or quality issues to the Associate Director of Supply Chain

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in business preferred
    • 1+ years with relevant work experience
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Attention to detail, financial acumen and analytical skills necessary
    • Excellent planning, written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize and work on a variety of projects at the same time
    • Team-Oriented and demonstrated excellence in direct and cross functional leadership
    • Outstanding organization, problem-solving skills
    • Passion for the industry, industry trends and company values.
    • Proficient in Microsoft and Google products
    • Must be adaptable and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
    • Must possess a Support badge issued by the Marijuana Enforcement Division 

Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
    • Must be able to read reports and use computer
    • Must be able to communicate with co-workers
    • Standing/walking occasionally required - up to 3 miles/day
    • Rare assignments will require climbing, stooping, kneeling
    • Must be able to lift/push/pull/carry up to 40 lbs.
    • Must be able to write, type, and use phone systems
