Natron Energy is seeking an individual to coordinate its shipping and receiving activities across its Meadowbrook facilities. The person will be responsible for procurement and logistics.

In this position he will work closely with the supply team of company's headquarters, as well as the technical, manufacturing, materials planning, and sales teams to generate proper documentation, prepare goods for shipping, coordinate with freight carriers and freight forwarders, and follow-up on deliveries to customers and service providers. The person in this position will also be responsible for the on-time supply and delivery to and from the Holland Meadowbrook facility, inspecting shipments for damage and completeness, filing receiving documents with finance, and assisting teams with delivery of the goods among the Natron Santa Clara buildings. The person in this position will work under minimal supervision, based upon knowledge of shipping regulations and operating principles. 

Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the on-time supply and delivery to and from the Meadowbrook facility.
    • In charge of the external storage building
    • Create and maintain purchase order records
    • Communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules, quality issues and cost concerns
    • Ensure that all deliveries satisfy assigned production schedules
    • Communicate procurement updates to management and other departments
    • Obtain training / maintain certification for shipping dangerous goods by air (IATA), ground (49 CFR DOT regulations), and sea (IMDG). Training and certification to include dangerous goods documentation (DGD), labelling, and packing group determination.
    • Work from safety data sheets for existing materials and directly with the technical team on special shipments to determine hazard classifications, provide shipping regulation interpretations, and determine hazard classifications for different modes of freight transportation.
    • Ensure proper packaging selection and labeling according to shipping regulations, directly handling packaging activities for unusual, technical, or first-time shipments and supervising/training others in packaging routine manufacturing shipments.
    • Coordinate necessary information and prepare customs documentation, determine HS codes, prepare pro-forma invoices, and other documents for international shipments.
    • Execute shipping transactions in the ERP system for production shipment of WIP and finished goods.
    • Work FIFO (first In first Out)
    • Work with freight carriers and freight forwarders to arrange pick-up, inspection, and shipping to final destination. Follow-up with carriers, freight forwarders and recipients to ensure timely delivery and notification of recipient of shipping tracking information.
    • Assist vendors and contractors in proper shipping of goods to Natron, when necessary.
    • Ensure accuracy of delivery and good condition of shipments received by Natron Energy in Meadowbrook; support materials planning and buying functions by verifying counts of inventory item receipts.
    • Execute inventory receipt transactions in the MRP system, and ensure packing slips reach finance in a timely manner.
    • Supervising / training others in operations for receiving routine shipments of inventory items.
    • Manage and/or directly handle the distribution of goods among the Natron Energy buildings in Meadowbrook
    • Lead projects to organize and streamline shipping and receiving activities for the company.
    • Participate in the continuous improvement process through the participation and leading of projects. 

Experience & Skills:

    • 3+ years Shipping/Receiving; Supervisory experience is preferred.
    • Prior certification in IATA, DOT, and IMDG shipping of dangerous goods is preferred
    • Experience with shipping/receiving out bounds to both domestic and international locations
    • Prior experience entering shipping and receiving transactions in ERP systems 

Logistics:

    • Compensation: competitive with those of other logistics positions at Michigan companies.
    • Regular, full-time position
    • Must be willing to come to the office daily.
