Position summary
The purpose of the People Services Specialist is to assist the Manager of People Operations and the People Services team in developing, implementing, and managing strategies to promote a highly engaging and positive employee experience.  This position's responsibilities include personnel file maintenance, Posterguard processing, assistance with background checks and employment verifications, and support of ongoing operations of the People Services department.  The People Services Specialist advocates for employees and ensures their long term success through people development in support of Nava’s values: Be Active Stewards, Pursue the Root Cause, Think Long-Term, Build Together, Inclusion is Essential and Progress Takes Work.

What you'll do

    • Coordinate the maintenance of all personnel files, including securely storing offer letters, onboarding documents, and other personnel files
    • Oversee the additions, deletions and changes for Posterguard compliance  
    • Assist with the review of Eden tickets to ensure they are processed in a timely manner
    • Review incoming People Operations emails and other correspondence and assign them to the right person for completion
    • Coordinates with vendors and other services providers to ensure they meet all requirements and deliver the necessary services to Nava
    • Monitors compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements in routine People Operations processes
    • Identifies and addresses minor compliance issues and escalates more complex issues as needed
    • Assists in the development and implementation of People Operations policies and procedures
    • Analyzes People Operations data to identify trends and recommend process improvement

Required skills

    • 3+ years of people services and human resources experience
    • Thorough knowledge of people operations and human resources principles and applicable federal and state regulations
    • Knowledge of HRIS systems
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision
    • Extraordinary discretion, confidentiality, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with a cross-functional team
    • Proficiency in GSuite, Slack, Zoom, Excel, Apple computers, and other tools used to support a remote-work environment
    • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and in a team environment

Desired skills

    • Prior People Operations experience.
$70,000 - $80,000 a year
Other requirements
All roles at Nava require the following:
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Ability to meet any other requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired
Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship, now or in the future
May be subject to a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract
