The Senior Software Engineer’s purpose is to improve overall engineering quality through documentation, technical guidance and mentoring, and applying best practices to the work. The incumbent leads significant migration efforts and routinely works with government stakeholders to get buy-in on technical initiatives. This role collaborates with the product team, government stakeholders, and other contractors to build new systems and make improvements to existing systems. What You'll do:
- Working with fellow Nava engineers to design, review, and build well-crafted software
- Collaborate with government partners and other contractors to architect, implement, and deploy new systems and improvements to existing systems
- Working in an agile manner to efficiently ship new features that meet user needs
- Creating tools and processes to automate our development, testing, and production workflows
- Writing and reviewing technical documentation, performing code reviewsParticipating in an on-call rotation to support production systems and investigate issues when they occur
- Taking part in hiring activities (e.g., submitting referrals, conducting interviews, and attending interview debriefs), as needed
- Assist in developing the overall vision for our salesforce updating and integration
- Will implement merge of 2 similar, but distinct, salesforce orgsIntegrate with external data sources
- Consolidate, and improve the separate data models from each org into a cohesive whole that can scale with the organization
- Analyze existing Apex code and determine what should be kept, rewritten, or moved to a Flow
- Analyze existing Flows and code and consolidate into a thought out set of flows and code that are logically grouped and represent current business processes
Required Skills:
- Senior Salesforce Engineer that will work with an Architect and junior developers to decide and implement modernization strategies
- At least 5 years of experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably designing and building medium to large-scale Salesforce applications
- Experience with AWS and SQL databases a plus
- Understanding of user interface design best practices
- Demonstrated ability to integrate Salesforce into an enterprise level cloud application
- Tenacity to dive into problems and iterate in working code
- Equal parts systems thinker and advocate for usersHighly resourceful, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Ability to think strategically around trade-offs and short term vs. long term benefits
- An adaptive, empathetic, collaborative and positive mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, technical and otherwise
$153,000 - $171,000 a year

● Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and meet any other requirements for government contracts for which they are hired.
