Position summary

By building modern cloud-based healthcare-oriented solutions and experiences, we help government agencies drive innovations in the ecosystem for better care coordination, value-based care, and improved person-centered care.

As a Product Manager (Federal Health), you’ll be responsible for building and operating the critical components required to unlock the full potential of a modern patient-centered healthcare system. You’ll be developing and operating products and services to help transform the future of the health tech ecosystem in the U.S.  Combining your technical fluency and product management skills, you'll help government clients deliver on their goals of modernizing systems through real-time, secure, reliable and at scale health data exchange. 

You will have a significant strategic impact and will be uniquely positioned and empowered to contribute to Nava's mission to make government services simple and effective. 

What you’ll do

    • Define the vision, strategy, roadmap, measures of success and execution plans for products and services you manage, including data pipelines, API ecosystems and front-end experiences 
    • Collaborate with government stakeholders to align on priorities and strategy
    • Work with designers, product managers, project managers and technical leads to discover and synthesize market research, user needs, business requirements, and technical approaches
    • Work closely with designers and engineers on your team to deliver with agility and quality
    • Define the direction, scope, and priority of projects, from high level initiatives to specific features, user stories, and business metrics
    • Work with technical leads to ensure performance, scalability and reliability of systems, frameworks, products and standards supporting the healthcare ecosystem
    • Work with cross-disciplinary teams to build solutions that are optimized for secure and privacy-compliant healthcare data exchanges
    • Design systematic and scalable approaches to drive adoption of standards that align with government open-source interoperability goals 
    • Proactively socialize, iterate on, and build data informed buy-in for product initiatives with the team, government partners, and other contractors
    • Represent Nava’s outcome-centric and user-centric approach in discovery meetings with agencies and contractors
    • Measure progress towards business goals or user needs and translate data insights into action
    • Review technical specifications and act as the Product SME in design decisions
    • Ensure requirements and user stories are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations

Required skills

    • At least 5 years of experience developing medium to large-scale products in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment 
    • Experience and knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS highly desirable)
    • Experience in the healthcare industry developing technology-driven healthcare solutions and innovations
    • Comfortable articulating the big picture and mapping and communicating the technical details of a system to stakeholders, customers and partners
    • Ability to generate very strong product plans and build buy-in across more than one team, including government partners and other contractors
    • Ability to influence decision-making at all levels within an organization, using a variety of skills and tools
    • Strong bias towards action; ability to step up into team gaps and ambiguous situations to structure the team’s action plan
    • Ability to execute with incomplete information; great product instincts and an ability to create order from divergent needs
    • Ability to identify market trends and shifts that will affect product direction, and updating plans based on future expectations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical, user experience, and project management trade-offs; enthusiastic and structured communicator
    • An adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset

Desired skills

    • Experience implementing healthcare policies and regulations
    • Fluency in Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) and Health Level 7 (HL7) standards
$114,000 - $153,000 a year
Other requirements
All roles at Nava require the following:
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Ability to meet any other requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired
Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship, now or in the future
May be subject to a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract
