Contract type: 1099 Independent contractor
Location: Remote (U.S. based)
Contract duration: 7/28/2025 to 3/31/2026
Reports to: QA Lead
Start date: July 2025, ASAP
Position Summary
The Product Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and usability of digital products that support a paid leave benefit program. You will be responsible for executing thorough manual testing of web applications to ensure they meet functional requirements and real-world user needs. You will support complex testing efforts, collaborate across multiple project scrum teams, and may lead small- to mid-scale QA efforts with some guidance from senior staff.
What you’ll do
- Lead or support planning, analysis, and execution of QA activities across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Ensure that teams' work has clear acceptance criteria, developed/agreed on between members of the scrum teams
- Write, execute, and maintain manual test cases based on user stories, functional specs, and acceptance criteria
- Execute or interpret regression, performance, and validation testing; track and report defects
- Validate integrations with backend systems (e.g., eligibility engines, document uploads)
- Perform accessibility testing and ensure compliance with relevant policies
- Collaborate with product managers, project managers, designers, developers, and test automation engineers to maintain high-quality service delivery
- Log detailed, actionable bug reports with reproduction steps, screenshots, and expected vs. actual results
Required skills
- 1+ years of experience conducting manual testing of software products
- Understanding of QA methodologies including manual, automated, integration, and performance testing
- Strong analytical skills in problem solving, test planning, and risk evaluation
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and adjust to changing project needs
- Strong documentation and test planning abilities
- High level of attention to detail
Desired skills
- Experience testing mobile-friendly interfaces
- Experience with public sector systems and federal/state benefit programs
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner) or open-source equivalents
- Leadership and mentoring experience in QA teams
- Understanding of system architecture, integration points, and business process modeling
- Understanding of Agile development processes
$70 - $110 an hour
Please note: Consultants/Contractors are not eligible for Nava benefits unless hired in a full time capacity.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must meet any other requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired.
Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
