THE OPPORTUNITY

We're seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to contribute to high-impact initiatives, implement robust solutions across our products and platform, and actively learn from and collaborate with experienced engineers to grow your technical skills.

Your profile and expertise:

    • 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally in a fast-paced or product-driven environment.
    • Proficiency with modern software technologies, with ability to quickly learn and contribute within our tech stack.
    • Growth-minded and eager to learn, adapting quickly to new challenges and priorities in a dynamic environment.
    • Effective communicator and team player, able to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your contributions across a range of projects:

    • Developing and enhancing features for our enterprise-grade APIs, web applications, and dashboards.
    • Contributing to the expansion of design systems to improve UI/UX consistency.
    • Working on the implementation of new data supplier integrations.
    • Improving and deploying features based on existing data models for new attributes and scores.

In the first month, you'll:

    • Land your "new hire" ticket in the first week and contribute to at least one roadmap feature in the first month.
    • Understand our software development lifecycle.
    • Become familiar with our mission, business model, and product offerings.
    • Get to know your team members, our working style, and company values.

In the first quarter, you'll:

    • Take ownership of defined features, delivering with quality and support.
    • Actively participate in team norms (e.g., project planning, code reviews, QA, on-call rotation).
    • Collaborate effectively within your engineering team as well as with product and design to ensure successful execution on team projects.
    • Deepen your knowledge of specific product areas and take action on identified improvements.
    • Understand how your work directly contributes to our business goals and products.

In the first year, you'll:

    • Successfully deliver multiple features, from implementation to deployment.
    • Become proficient in your product vertical and related technical artifacts.
    • Expand your technical skillset, exploring areas of depth or breadth to increase your overall impact.
    • Consistently contribute to team discussions and provide constructive feedback.
    • Solidify your understanding of our engineering practices and contribute to team efficiency.

The above compensation ranges are dependent on individual experience, skills, education, location, and qualifications. We consider all elements of compensation to be a part of the value we provide to Novans. This may include base salary, equity grants, incentive compensation for eligible roles, professional development, flexible PTO, and tenure rewards. In the U.S., our benefits package includes comprehensive and generously subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance options, along with a company-sponsored 401 (k) plan, 16 weeks of parental leave, sick time off, and paid vacation time.
