We're seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer (IC5) to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering talent. You'll drive technical strategy, build scalable financial products, and take ownership of complex projects from conception to delivery.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Support and mentor the engineers on the team, elevating overall team capability
    • Partner with the engineering manager for the technical roadmap and direction
    • Work collaboratively with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to deliver both short-term objectives and long-term strategic initiatives.
    • Design, extend, improve, and manage the complexity of our global financial products to enhance their effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Deliver high-quality solutions and features with speed and end-to-end ownership of your projects.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

    • 10+ years of relevant experience, including experience at a high-growth or early-stage fintech startup
    • Strong collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders to discover requirements and deliver a solution
    • Experience with our tech stack (Node.js, React, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS)
    • Experience building enterprise-grade APIs and platform-level features (web and mobile)

SAMPLE PROJECTS:

    • Build new APIs or iterate on our existing production APIs
    • Evolve our platform architecture to scale for multiple product use cases
    • Expand our design system to unify UI/UX across our consumer and customer-facing products
$229,000 - $259,200 a year
The above compensation range is for US-based candidates and is dependent on individual experience, skills, education, location, and qualifications. We consider all elements of compensation to be a part of the value we provide to Novans. This may include base salary, equity grants, incentive compensation for eligible roles, professional development, flexible PTO, and tenure rewards.
