Your profile and expertise:
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including high-growth or early-stage startups.
- Deep fluency in modern software technologies and architectural patterns, with the ability to quickly learn and ramp into our tech stack.
- A visionary and adaptive leader, adept at defining clarity and driving solutions through highly complex and ambiguous challenges in a rapidly evolving, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional collaborator, able to effectively influence and communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Your contributions across a range of projects:
- Architecting and building enterprise-grade APIs and establishing patterns for platform-level features (web and mobile).
- Leading the vision and expansion of design systems to unify UI/UX across our consumer and customer-facing products at scale.
- Pioneering and launching new, complex integrations with critical data suppliers.
- Shaping the strategic direction and overseeing the end-to-end productionization of complex data models to deploy mission-critical attributes and scores across our platform.
- Defining and evolving core platform architecture to support multiple product use cases and ensure long-term scalability.
In the first month, you'll:
- Land your "new hire" ticket in the first week and directly contribute to at least one high-impact roadmap feature.
- Thoroughly understand our software development lifecycle and overarching technical strategy.
- Quickly grasp our business model, product offerings, and customer value proposition, understanding their strategic implications for engineering.
- Build rapport with the team and key stakeholders, understanding our working style, mission, and core values.
In the first quarter, you'll:
- Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives, delivering with speed and end-to-end ownership, often navigating ambiguity.
- Actively shape and make profound contributions across team norms (e.g., refining project plans, elevating code review standards, optimizing QA processes, improving on-call rotations).
- Forge strong collaborative relationships across engineering, product, design, data science, and other partner teams to drive cohesive development of complex projects.
- Deepen knowledge of critical product artifacts and proactively identify significant opportunities for architectural or systemic improvement.
- Develop a clear understanding of how engineering strategically impacts our business and product roadmap at a macro level.
In the first year, you'll:
- Lead highly complex initiatives end-to-end, translating significant ambiguity into clear, actionable milestones to achieve both short and long-term organizational goals.
- Influence and implement our company's technical roadmap and strategic direction in close partnership with engineering and product leadership.
- Establish critical best practices, drive long-term technical vision, and advocate for architectural shifts to simplify and scale our entire product platform.
- Become a recognized subject matter expert across product verticals and foundational systems, adept at translating broad product requirements into impactful technical strategies.
- Significantly strengthen our engineering culture by championing open dialogue and feedback, and providing instrumental mentorship to uplift overall technical acumen.
