We’re on the lookout for a Director of Engineering to join our Engineering team at our office in Berlin. Join us in building the largest AI enabled fintech for healthcare!

You will be joining our Connector domain, which focuses on connecting Nelly with various practice management systems (PMS). As a Director of Engineering you will be at the forefront of driving Nelly’s technical strategy and operational excellence within the domain. In this role, you will oversee the design, development, and deployment of integration solutions that seamlessly connect practice management systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, security, and compliance.

You will build and lead multiple engineering and operational teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. By working closely with product management, internal stakeholders, and external partners, you’ll ensure that our solutions align with customer needs and position Nelly as a leader in the healthcare integration space.

Joining us, you will

    • Build, manage, and mentor two engineering teams and one operational support team while cultivating a collaborative and high-performing culture across all functions.
    • Define and implement the technical strategy for the Connector Domain together with the Staff Engineer to ensure seamless integrations into healthcare practice management systems.
    • Work closely with product management, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure connector solutions align with customer needs.
    • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of connector solutions, ensuring they meet all necessary performance, security, and compliance standards.
    • Manage project priorities, resource allocation, and team roadmaps to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
    • Establish and maintain processes for cross-team collaboration, ensuring transparency, alignment, and effective communication across departments.
    • Continuously improve systems and processes by leveraging advancements in technology and adopting best practices.

What you’ll bring

    • At least 10 years of experience in engineering, with 2+ years managing multiple teams.
    • Experience in building and scaling technical teams in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
    • Proven ability to align cross-functional teams around shared objectives and fostering a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
    • Solid technical background and software architecture skills.
    • Experience working with public cloud providers (either AWS, Azure or GCP).
    • Experience with on-premise running systems (ideally Windows).
    • Commitment to driving a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Fluent German and English, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
