Nest was co-founded by Dr. Rebekah Gee, the former Secretary of Health for the State of Louisiana and the former CMO for Medicaid and the Title V program; and Rebecca Kavoussi, former Western US President at Landmark Health, and former head of global clinical operations at Babylon Health. Role Summary
The Director, People Operations is responsible for the talent acquisition, people operations/human resources and training and development needs of the organization; continuing to cultivate a people-first company. This person will be tasked with building and developing a diverse team of people leaders, promoting a mission-driven culture, and anticipating the cultural and infrastructure needs of Nest as it grows. Reporting to the COO, this role will lead an integrated talent attraction and human resources team dedicated to creating a seamless experience across the employee lifecycle. The Director, People Operations, will be the HR Business Partner for Nest leaders, providing day to day guidance and support on all things People, and helping to build leadership capacity across the organization. The right candidate will have a blend of experience across a range of companies at varied stages and maturity and feel confident building at seed stage and preparing for scale and fast growth.
What You’ll Do
- Inspire, model, and foster a culture that matches Nest’s mission, vision and values, including promoting inclusion and equity, assuming positive intent, openly embracing curiosity, and showing humility.
- Oversee all aspects of the recruiting process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and recommending candidates for interviews and for hire.
- Develop world-class onboarding experience for all new hires as they transition from recruiting to onboarding, including a close partnership with Clinical Operations leadership on learning & development processes.
- Manage overall performance management cycles, including promotions, performance reviews, goal setting (OKRs), and developing career paths across all areas of the company.
- Coach, advise, and train managers on their leadership effectiveness and how to employ various techniques, including conflict resolution, team building, professional development, role & responsibility clarity, and performance management.
- Respond to and own resolution of all employee-related incidents, consulting with leaders, managers, and employees.
- Champion and develop Nest’s approach to driving inclusive and equitable practices and metrics throughout the organization.
- Utilize a data-driven mindset to identify key People Operations metrics that drive insights and inform decision-making to support long-term growth objectives.
- Lead with best practices and proven methodologies for process improvement, scalability, and automation to support long-term growth objectives.
- Proactively develop key objectives and results for the People Ops team that align with company goals.
- Bring thought leadership, creative insights, and strategic perspective to designing, implementing, and continuously improving People initiatives.
- Lead our ongoing effort to develop a thriving work culture with employees across the U.S.
- Forge strong connections, maintain open lines of communication, and gain trust with employees at all levels.
- Be an ambassador of the company's core values, and drive initiatives to constantly build upon and improve culture and engagement.
- Continually identify and prioritize people-related risks for the organization and partner closely with Legal and other departments to ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are in place.
Experience & Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a human resources field (equivalent experience accepted).
· Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in human resources and talent recruitment, or ideally both, with demonstrated success in managing and developing high-performing, cross-functional teams with experience in healthcare.
· Experience with using and administering ATS and HRIS platforms is required.
· Experience working with a diverse workforce that includes local/national employees and market/shared services teams.
· Experience in a startup or fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment required, with a track record of building and scaling operations to meet organizational goals and objectives, particularly in the value-based care delivery environment.
· Experience in-home care delivery, population health management, care coordination, or other relevant clinical operations company preferred.

· Adaptable with a keen ability to fly high (focused on strategy/infrastructure) or low (focused on operational/tactical) as needed.
Travel & Physical Requirements
This is a remote role and will require occasional travel to Corporate Office and field offices.
