Members can watch or play as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, on any internet-connected screen.

The Search Systems team builds the backend systems that help millions of members globally find and discover content they’ll love via Search, Voice UI, and other interactive experiences in the Netflix product.

The Opportunity:
We are looking for a strong technical lead for the new Search & Recommendations innovation initiative, which is a strategic bet for our business. You will play a highly cross-functional role, partnering with other engineers, product management, machine learning, and data teams to take Netflix’s ML/AI initiatives in the Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) domain to the next level.

If you have a passion for building scalable, robust systems, are interested in pushing the envelope in applying LLMs to advance the state-of-the-art Search & Recommendation experience, and operate in a critical part of the stack that strongly influences what our customers see on their screens, then we want to talk to you.

What we are looking for:

    • You have proven expertise in building and operating high-traffic distributed systems for search and/or discovery experiences.
    • You are self-driven and highly motivated to deliver top-tier solutions while navigating highly ambiguous environments and can execute 0-1 projects.
    • You are excited to work in a multidisciplinary environment (engineering, algorithms, data engineering/science, product experimentation) and have experience leading projects with 3-4 other engineers.
    • You are comfortable working in a hybrid team with partners distributed across (US) geographies & time zones.
    • You are willing to take broad ownership of team responsibilities (building roadmaps, scoping, and task breakdown).
    • You are a proactive, effective communicator and have a strong bias towards action.
    • You are experienced working with the public cloud like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
