The iOS mobile application brings Netflix to our members, wherever they may be, and the iOS Client Foundations team is responsible for building the frameworks, core technologies, and underlying architecture of the Netflix iOS application.
This team builds paved-path solutions that address the needs of iOS UI product engineers, including app architecture, data access (e.g. GraphQL), quality of experience (QoE), and client observability. This team also operates as a central hub for iOS at Netflix, bringing iOS engineers together across the engineering organization for conversations, learning and community.
We are looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead the iOS Client Foundations team and drive technology investments needed to scale the iOS product. With Netflix’s focus on international growth and new forms of entertainment such as games, there is a growing demand for mobile product innovations that increase value for our members worldwide. The work of the iOS Client Foundations team enables us to iterate quickly on product AB tests while having confidence in the quality of the product. In this role, you will collaborate with other senior, high-performing engineers and leaders to pursue challenging and novel opportunities.
The Role:
- Lead a team of senior iOS engineers who value inclusion, transparency, autonomy, and humility.
- Empower, challenge, and coach team members to grow their impact as individual technical leaders by providing them with context and continuous feedback.
- Effectively identify, prioritize, and manage high-impact initiatives on the team’s technical roadmap.
- Collaborate, build alignment, and develop strong relationships with engineering partners across client, server, and productivity teams.
- Support and enable communication across the strong iOS engineering community at Netflix
- Strategically manage the engineering challenges and risks associated with shipping complex infrastructure solutions that impact the core product experience on a regular, rapid cadence.
