Become a key contributor to NextGen Federal Technologies’ Information System Security Engineering team, where you'll architect and engineer secure systems leveraging both established and emerging technologies. In close collaboration with government stakeholders, you’ll deliver comprehensive cybersecurity services and solutions to design, integrate, modernize, test, evaluate, and sustain mission-critical security capabilities—ensuring the advancement of enterprise cyber posture.

Responsibilities:

    • Execute full-spectrum security engineering activities including research, threat modeling, protocol analysis, architecture design, validation testing, and deployment of advanced network defense mechanisms to protect enterprise information systems and application infrastructure.
    • Support stakeholders in architecting and implementing tailored cybersecurity solutions across enterprise networks, VPN infrastructures, application platforms, PKI environments, authentication protocols, and directory services to ensure robust protection of sensitive data and system integrity.
    • Conduct scheduled network vulnerability scans to detect exploitable weaknesses, evaluate threat exposure, recommend mitigation strategies, and perform comprehensive risk assessments to ensure adherence to organizational security policies and industry standards.
    • Engineer enterprise and system-level security architectures across the full software development lifecycle, translating regulatory requirements, legal mandates, and environmental constraints into actionable security controls, design patterns, and operational processes.
    • Deliver expert security analysis and guidance to translate high-level security requirements and policy mandates into actionable technical controls, ensuring seamless integration into IT components and enterprise systems through intentional design and secure configuration.
    • Deliver security engineering expertise and strategic guidance to product managers, system owners, developers, and stakeholders, while ensuring alignment and coordination of security processes within departmental lifecycle management and governance frameworks.
    • Extensive hands-on experience in architecting secure systems for Department of Defense (DoD) environments, including both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructures. Proven expertise in securing development, testing, and deployment environments; performing system security engineering; and supporting ISSM/ISSO functions throughout the full Assessment and Authorization (A&A) lifecycle in compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
    • Design and integrate cybersecurity architectures for systems and networks supporting multilevel security (MLS) environments, enabling secure processing and segregation of data across multiple classification levels—including UNCLASSIFIED, SECRET, and TOP SECRET—within government and defense-related infrastructures.
    • Provide operational support and engineering for enterprise system environments, including maintenance, optimization, and enhancement activities, while delivering strategic recommendations for the selection and integration of advanced security technologies.
