We are presently looking for a VP, External Engagement & Inclusive Insights  to join our team.

Role: The Vice President, External Engagement & Inclusive Insights will lead Nielsen’s external engagement strategies, strengthening partnerships with community organizations, advocacy groups, clients and select industry stakeholders both in the US and in India. This role will support the Senior Vice President, Civic Engagement, and the Senior Vice President of Inclusive Insights, ensuring that Nielsen’s business and community engagement priorities align with external advocacy, industry engagement, and community-driven initiatives both in the U.S. and in India. This role requires travel up to 30%. 

As a recognized thought leader, this role will have a special focus on the Asian American market, leading industry relationships, partnerships, and developing the overarching narrative for this community across media, advertising, and audience measurement. Additionally, this leader will support inclusive thought leadership narratives for Black, Hispanic, and LGBTQ+ audiences. 

This role will also be responsible for managing the external visibility and digital presence of the Chief Business Impact Officer.
 
Responsibilities:
Community & Business Partnerships
  Develop, nurture, and manage strategic relationships with community groups that align with Nielsen’s business interests and industry advocacy.
  Partner with industry organizations, multicultural media stakeholders, and community leaders to advance representation and engagement.
  Lead engagement strategies for Asian American industry groups, community groups media partners, and ad agencies, ensuring Nielsen is the leading voice for this audience.
  Support Nielsen’s participation in high-profile industry and community events, representing the company and ensuring thought leadership presence.
  Oversee Nielsen External Advisory Council in partnership with the SVP of Business Impact & Inclusion.
 Oversee Nielsen DIS marketing communications relations, including editorial calendar development and managing internal marketing strategies.
 Promote engagement of business unit leaders in external activities to enhance company’s reputation.   
External Engagement & Business Affairs
  Work closely with the SVP of External Affairs to create, drive and support community-driven business strategies.
  Lead global community engagement initiatives, with a specific focus on India. This includes overseeing and partnering with a dedicated community affairs/outreach professional in India to ensure alignment and effective collaboration in an impartial partnership
  Serve as a bridge between Nielsen and external advocacy groups, ensuring alignment between business objectives and industry initiatives.
  Oversee sponsorships, strategic alliances, and partnerships that enhance Nielsen’s presence within key community-driven business spaces.
 Thought Leadership & Market Influence
  Lead narrative development and support monetization of Nielsen’s thought leadership initiatives for the AANHPI market, identifying opportunities for revenue-generating industry engagement.
  Develop and shape the media and measurement narrative for the Asian American market, internal and external, ensuring insights and data drive meaningful conversations within media, advertising, and measurement.
 ⦿ Create and oversee insights presentations, and storytelling initiatives for the AANHPI community, and contribute to the larger Diverse Intelligence Series.
  Oversee Nielsen’s Diverse Intelligence Series (DIS) marketing outreach including:
  ⦿ Editorial calendar development
 ⦿ Managing internal marketing stakeholders
 ⦿ Coordinating with the marketing team and comms /PR on research publication and messaging

Qualifications:
• Proven experience in community relations, external affairs, industry partnerships, and thought leadership within media, research, or advertising.
• Expertise in multicultural marketing and audience measurement, particularly within the Asian American market.
• Strong ability to develop and monetize strategic partnerships that advance business goals.
• A well-established network among industry organizations, advocacy groups, media partners, and advertising agencies.
• Exceptional storytelling, research, and data-driven communication skills.
• Executive presence with experience in high-profile engagements and strategic collaborations
