This position is the senior financial leader for NCS and is responsible for the financial well-being of the organization.  The SVP of Finance will lead our finance and accounting teams and drive financial planning, analysis, and strategy for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and leadership, with a proven track record of managing financial operations and driving business growth through sound financial management practices.

*The level of this role can flex up or down depending on the candidate's experience. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team
    • Offers strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team on financial planning and results management, including working with team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking
    • Manages the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and the preparation of all financial reporting
    • Advises on long-term business and financial planning
    • Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements -- and developing action plans.
    • Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; resolving problems; and implementing change
    • Ensures cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
    • Ensures compliance with the law and company policies
    • Manages all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes
    • Supervises all finance/accounting personnel
    • Works closely, as appropriate, with NCS parent companies to meet required reporting needs
    • Interacts with the board of directors
    • Other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    • MSc/MBA or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience.
    • CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred
    • Experience in a senior management position
    • Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets
    • Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
    • Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

    • 15+ plus years of managerial accounting and financial management experience
    • 5+ years in executive leadership role
    • Experience working in a growing start-up environment preferred
    • Experience in a service (not manufacturing) business with activity-based project costing

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $150,000- $250,000, which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location.  The position of each employee within a compensation range at NCS is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
