The Logistic+ division comprises some of the most exciting and enterprising teams at Ninja Van. Building on Ninja Van’s existing capabilities, we experiment with new ideas to develop innovative products and services that enhance our core business and help us serve our clients, partners and end-customers better.
We are looking for an experienced operations leader to launch, scale and manage operations for Ninja Van’s Warehousing and Fulfilment vertical across our key SEA markets. As the owner of the Operations P&L for the Fulfilment Business Unit, you will be responsible for setting up operations in new markets, operationalising new capabilities and solutions, building and implementing best-in-class warehousing and fulfilment systems and processes, overseeing day-to-day operational performance, and leading the drive towards cost and operational leadership.
The ideal candidate for the role would have had experience successfully launching and/or overseeing end-to-end fulfilment operations across multiple markets for a leading warehousing and fulfilment 3PL and/or a fast-growing omni-channel retailer, and should demonstrate an in-depth understanding of key cost and operational efficiency drivers for both B2C e-commerce and B2B fulfilment operations and a familiarity with WMS systems.
Responsibilities
- Own targets relating to SLAs, operational efficiency and cost efficiency
- Work with regional and in-country stakeholders to develop regional and country-level operations execution plan
- Share responsibility for operating margin targets across the region, and drive improvement through optimisation of resource planning, allocation and efficiency of usage
- Build end-to-end efficient and scalable B2B and B2C warehouse operations flows, including layout plans, processes and SOPs
- Work with in-country team (fulfilment country launchers and fulfilment warehouse managers):
- Launch B2B and B2C fulfilment warehouse operations across multiple markets, ensuring that warehouse operations processes and SOPs are tested and validated before launch
- Post-launch, be responsible for consistent execution of warehouse processes and adherence to agreed SLAs
- Define key performance metrics to be tracked, and build analytical frameworks and tracking mechanisms / dashboards to analyse performance, identify problems and drive improvements
- Conduct in-depth, data-driven review of processes to optimise end-to-end warehouse operations processes to achieve cost and efficiency improvements
- Develop and implement larger-scale initiatives to improve operational performance such as racking and automation
- Scope and build operational requirements and processes for launch of new initiatives, including B2C fulfilment
Requirements
- 8-12+ years of relevant experience; with at least 5 years of experience managing warehousing and fulfilment operations focused on e-commerce or omni-channel fulfilment
- Prior experience taking on full responsibility and/or P&L ownership of the operations function within the 3PL warehousing and fulfilment industry
- Strong understanding of Warehouse Management and Order Management Systems (WMS/OMS)
- Proven track record of successfully leading regional and/or in-country operations and operational excellence teams
- Highly analytical, with a structured and data-driven approach to problem solving
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities, with experience in working closely with senior regional and in-country cross-functional stakeholders
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Exposure to working across geographies, teams and individuals of different cultures, particularly across Southeast Asia
