Ninja Xpress Legal Team wishes to bring on board a regulatory-focused mid-to-senior level Legal Counsel to augment the legal team's capabilities and capacity in relation to handling and resolving regulatory compliance risks and matters in Indonesia. This counsel is expected to be a self-motivated individual with a high level of communications skills who can operate independently. He or she will be expected to advise stakeholders at the country and group levels in relation to how Ninja Xpress handles and resolves regulatory compliance risks and matters.

Job Descriptions :

    • Candidate will be the lead counsel in relation to (1) advising on and handling regulatory compliance risks and matters; (2) designing and delivering training in relation to regulatory compliance risks and matters; (3)  processes and policies relating to handling regulatory issues and fostering regulatory compliance; (4) building a ‘compliance culture’; and (5) operational and regulatory licences applications, renewals and issues
    • Candidate reports to Indonesia Country Legal Head but is expected work with country and group units, including Regional Legal Department, on regulatory compliance issues in Indonesia.
    • Some travel within Indonesia is required.
    • Candidate is expected to work on other non-regulatory legal matters, as assigned by the Country Legal Head, which includes the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts and other Group Legal projects.

Requirements :

    • Recognized law degree in Indonesia.
    • Qualification in the Indonesian Bar is preferred but not mandatory.
    • 5 to 7 years experience in a law firm, legal department of a reputable Indonesian or foreign company, Indonesian authority, or a combination of the aforesaid.
    • At least 3 years of experience in handling and advising in regulatory compliance matters in Indonesia. Legal work experience in logistics, transportation, e-commerce or any highly-regulated industry will make the candidate stand out.
    • Strong ability to communicate in writing and verbally in Indonesian and English. 

Desired Competency and Skills :

    • Handling, advising and resolving Indonesian regulatory compliance matters in a manner consistent with Ninja Van Group's strategy and goals.
    • Handling and advising in license application and renewal matters.
    • Liaison and representation (on behalf of the Company) with industry associations.
    • Legal research and advice on regulatory matters.
    • Track record of effective management of internal stakeholders, including senior management.
    • Designing and implementing processes and policies relating to regulatory compliance.
    • Delivering internal regulatory-compliance training.
    • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, procurement contracts, leases and other commercial documents.
