As VP of Partner Relations, you will play a critical role in ensuring a high-quality customer experience and smooth operation of our payment network by leading a talented team responsible for addressing day-to-day operational challenges and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability as it specifically related to the payment network of Nium. 

Responsibilities

    • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of operations professionals responsible for managing the day-to-day operational issues and challenges that arise within our payment network, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster a high-performing and collaborative work environment. 
    • Operational Management: Oversee the resolution of operational issues, incidents, and escalations related to transaction processing, network connectivity, and system performance, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on service delivery. 
    • Continuous Improvement:  Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our payment network, leveraging best practices, automation, and technology solutions to streamline processes and reduce manual interventions. 
    • Project Management:  Lead projects related to operational improvements, system upgrades, and network enhancements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines, and ensuring successful implementation within budget and schedule constraints. 
    • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks and vulnerabilities within the payment network, implementing robust controls, monitoring mechanisms, and contingency plans to safeguard against potential disruptions and ensure business continuity. 
    • Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and operational metrics to track network performance, identify trends, and proactively address issues or bottlenecks to maintainoptimal service levels and customer satisfaction. 
    • Process Management: Establish process around and manage end-to-end the forward and reverse due diligence process with our network banking partners, including during account opening and on going. 

Skills and Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience in the Finance/Banking industry.
    • Good knowledge of the payments industry and prior experience in Fintech companies will be a plus
    • Solid understanding of concepts such as payment gateways, SWIFT, ACH, instant payments, APIs, batch processing, KYC, onboarding, and banking processes and how they relate to each other
    • Knowledge of current state of regional payment networks, regulatory affairs, industry standards, and players in the payments industry.
    • Experience setting up and managing process and operational structure 
    • Experience managing remote and global teams 
    • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams into enterprise-wide outcomes. Demonstrated examples of success in managing internal and external relationships.
    • Analytical and conceptual thinker with ability to analyze and devise a strategic approach for Nium with bank partners, including commercial processes.
