The Finance team is a team of ambitious professionals, focused on making the finance process smoother and more efficient. We’re keen on converting financial data into meaningful information and insights, which we do by automating workflows and analyzing data. The Finance team supports business stakeholders in making decisions, driving strategy, and achieving the lofty goals of an ever-growing unicorn with confidence. Our team owns and executes accounting, controlling, finance systems, data and financial analysis, treasury and procurement functions.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Ledger Accounting Team Lead to oversee our general ledger function. In this key leadership role, you will guide a team of talented accounting professionals, drive the month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure our financial records are both accurate and compliant. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who combines deep technical knowledge with strong team leadership and process improvement experience.

Main Responsibilities

    • Lead and mentor: Manage and inspire a team of GL accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Support team’s growth through internal and external learning and development tools.
    • Internal Controls: Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Process Excellence: Identify, design, and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in general ledger management.
    • Period-End Close: Oversee the general ledger processes, ensuring timely and accurate general ledger accounting entries for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing.
    • Reporting: Prepare and review key financial reports, reconciliations, and analyses for management, external auditors and statutory stakeholders.
    • Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners to resolve issues and ensure a seamless financial operation. 
    • Drive results: Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) to guarantee achievement of goals.  Encourage team engagement and ensure GL team’s involvement in key projects and activities.

Core Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
    • Minimum of 6 -8 years of progressive experience in GL or related finance roles, with at least 2-4 years in a people management capacity.
    • Deep knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), financial reporting, and internal controls.
    • Proven track record of setting up processes and implementing new initiatives in complex organizational environments.
    • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, strong knowledge of GL as well as end-to-end accounting processes.
    • High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

Salary Range

    • Gross Salary 4500-6400 EUR/Month.
