As the Production Scheduler, you are responsible for maintaining the daily production schedule for all shops in our Architectural Products Division (APD). Your role is essential in keeping the shop floor organized and operating efficiently by updating lead times, distributing daily workloads, and tracking job status across multiple product lines. In addition, you will help maintain internal reference tools that support overall workforce planning and coordination. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Update Daily Amend Schedule: Revise the APD Amend Schedule based on input from shop supervisors. Print and distribute updated schedules to each shop supervisor. Update shop efficiency ratings in the internal system.
    • Manage Lead Times & Job Tracking: Review and update APD lead times in Ponderosa based on current workload and job confirmations. Upload newly confirmed jobs into the APD schedule and complete all required fields. Adjust lead times as necessary based on new or revised work.
    • Process Stair and Captiva Packets: Print all new stair and Captiva packets delivered by the APD office. Enter required job details into the system and update lead times as appropriate.
    • Distribute Daily Workload: Prepare and distribute the next day’s workload to shop supervisors and production leads.
    • Maintain Employee Reference Tools: Keep records up to date for employee vacations, sick calls, and departmental transfers. Ensure hours are correct for each department’s labor allocations. 

Required Education and Experience

    • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
    • Strong Communication Skills: Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
    • Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of interpreting and following detailed, straightforward written or oral instructions, and resolving issues in standardized situations.
    • Microsoft Office: Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
    • Math & Forecasting: Strong math skills and the ability to analyze data for inventory forecasting and trend identification.
    • Flexibility: Willing and able to work overtime as needed.

Physical Demands

    • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods. Must be able to walk on shop production floor regularly to communicate with Supervisors.
    • Visual Acuity: Must have strong near and far-sighted vision.
    • Auditory Awareness: Must be able to hear and identify machinery sounds to ensure safe operation.
