Novoloop is an emerging leader in plastic circularity, transforming post-consumer plastic waste into the world’s first chemically upcycled performance materials. Novoloop was founded in 2015 and is a venture-backed start-up that has raised $25M to date. Headquartered in Menlo Park, California, Novoloop is currently scaling up to its first commercial manufacturing facility to use its patented ATOD (Accelerated Thermal Oxidative Decomposition) technology to manufacture performance materials for the footwear, electronics, and automotive industries.


Job Summary

We’re seeking a Feedstock Manager to establish our plastic waste feedstock supplies and market knowledge. This is a Corporate Development opportunity that reports to the CEO. In this role, you will be responsible for mapping the supply chain and availability of feedstock to support Novoloop’s first facility, as well as working with suppliers to source feedstock according to specifications, volumes, and economics. 

This is a full-time position that requires regular travels. You will visit our pre-treatment site in San Jose, CA at least once per month. You will also visit supply chain partners across the US and occasionally internationally. When you’re not business traveling, you can work remotely or at our offices in Menlo Park, CA. Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain good relationships with feedstock suppliers
    • Manage inbound queries to build a supplier database
    • Collect samples to create a materials library along with market data on geographies, volumes, pricing, contamination, access and transportation; monitor market activity and fluctuations 
    • Source feedstock and organize trials on our waste pre-treatment machine 
    • Negotiate terms and secure feedstock for pilot and commercial runs from supply sources 
    • Manage feedstock logistics from supply sources to Novoloop’s sites or partner sites
    • Work with the leadership team to prioritize supply sources 
    • General corporate development activities supporting the CEO

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Sustainability Management, Environmental Engineering, Polymer Science, or similar relevant field
    • 2-5 years (or more) of work experience in a plastic waste supply chain role 
    • Critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills
    • Experience designing, negotiating, and executing supply agreements
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • B2B relationship management experience
    • Entrepreneurial spirit, initiative, autonomy, and ability to work well with ambiguity
    • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
    • Prior experience working in a startup environment is preferred
    • Prior experience working in or with Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) is preferred

Compensation

    • Salary range $100,000 to $130,000
    • Stock options
    • Actual compensation offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
