Opportunity to join an exciting fiber broadband start-up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Our Field Operations Technicians are responsible for performing all of our field operations work, including going onto customer sites to extend our all-optical broadband platform into their homes and businesses, installing our equipment, activating our service, and ensuring the customer has the best broadband service once it's deployed. We're seeking talented, enthusiastic candidates who are excited to be a part of a growing company with a greenfield network.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Install fiber optic and electrical (CAT5/6/6E) cabling, measure signal levels, connect equipment, and activate services.
- Configured provided equipment and services to meet customers' needs.
- Assist customer in downloading and understanding the mobile app, as well as ensuring minimal disruptions in their home or business Wi-Fi environment.
- Install fiber optic and electrical equipment in cabinets and data centers as required.
- Provide remote and onsite support to customers with difficult or challenging installations or problems stemming from their environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired background
- Working knowledge of fixed broadband networks and services, ideally fiber optic networks (PON/GPON/XGS-PON), cable/HFC, or copper/DSL solutions.
- Practical experience using, installing, and troubleshooting these technologies on the customer premise.
- Hands-on deployment and troubleshooting skills.
$20 - $25 an hour
