NOVOS FiBER, a leading provider of FTTH internet services, is seeking a motivated and experienced Network Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the design, deployment, and maintenance of our network infrastructure. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, scalability, and reliability of the NOVOS FiBER optical network.

Essential Job Functions:

    • Design, implement, and maintain optical transmission systems, IP routing and switching equipment, and Wi-Fi routing solutions.
    • Configure and maintain IP routing infrastructure, manage Internet connections, and associated services.
    • Document and distribute design, deployment, and maintenance standards for the broadband platform.
    • Manage the ongoing maintenance of the broadband platform, including grooming, augmentation, and upgrades.
    • Perform capacity and other planning functions for the broadband platform.
    • Monitor network performance and proactively identify areas for optimization and improvement.
    • Develop and sustain relationships with equipment vendors and service providers.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues from customer or platform support teams and work with equipment vendors and service providers to resolve them.
    • Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to maintain network reliability and uptime.
    • Conduct acceptance testing and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications. 
    • Be the subject matter expert on one or more aspects of the broadband platform.
    • Stay current on the latest trends and changes in the relevant technologies and the broadband industry.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, equipment inventory, and network topology.
    • Generate regular reports on network performance, capacity utilization, and key performance indicators. 
    • Provide technical documentation and training materials for internal teams and external stakeholders as needed. 

Requirements:

    • Minimum of three years of experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining networks in an ISP environment. 
    • In-depth knowledge of routing and switching technologies and their associated standards and protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
    • Hands-on experience with routers and switches from leading vendors, preferably Nokia.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, startup environment.
    • Willingness to report to the NOVOS FiBER Coppell office five days per week. 
    • Be available for occasional night/weekend on-call to address critical issues as needed.

Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and reach.
    • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.
    • Must have visual acuity.
    • Must be able to lift 0-25 pounds.
