We’re seeking a Audio Driver Engineer to help develop high-performance virtual audio systems that operate at the core of the macOS environment.

Requirements

    • Experience building macOS audio drivers, virtual audio devices, or professional audio tools
    • Expertise in CoreAudio, Audio HAL, and IOKit driver development
    • Strong low-level programming skills in C and C++
    • In-depth knowledge of audio routing, latency management, and real-time audio processing
    • Proficiency with macOS development tools such as Xcode, lldb, and Instruments
    • Understanding of system-level profiling and performance tuning on both Intel and Apple Silicon
    • Familiarity with professional audio workflows such as DAWs, streaming, or conferencing applications

Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and optimize virtual audio drivers for macOS to support advanced routing, mixing, and system-level audio processing
    • Build high-throughput, low-latency audio pipelines that push the limits of CoreAudio
    • Ensure real-time performance with minimal latency and high stability across different macOS architectures
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including real-time voice engineers and audio researchers to integrate driver functionality into a larger platform
    • Solve complex challenges such as clock synchronization, buffer management, device aggregation, and multi-application audio routing
