We’re seeking a Audio Driver Engineer to help develop high-performance virtual audio systems that operate at the core of the macOS environment.
Requirements
- Experience building macOS audio drivers, virtual audio devices, or professional audio tools
- Expertise in CoreAudio, Audio HAL, and IOKit driver development
- Strong low-level programming skills in C and C++
- In-depth knowledge of audio routing, latency management, and real-time audio processing
- Proficiency with macOS development tools such as Xcode, lldb, and Instruments
- Understanding of system-level profiling and performance tuning on both Intel and Apple Silicon
- Familiarity with professional audio workflows such as DAWs, streaming, or conferencing applications
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize virtual audio drivers for macOS to support advanced routing, mixing, and system-level audio processing
- Build high-throughput, low-latency audio pipelines that push the limits of CoreAudio
- Ensure real-time performance with minimal latency and high stability across different macOS architectures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including real-time voice engineers and audio researchers to integrate driver functionality into a larger platform
- Solve complex challenges such as clock synchronization, buffer management, device aggregation, and multi-application audio routing
