Nurx is a growing and changing startup, so this role will include variety, challenges, and creativity that go beyond a typical retail pharmacy role.

The Pharmacist will begin with a part-time work trial but is expected to transition to full time if the trial is successful for both the Pharmacist and the Nurx team.


-Manage the prescription workflow and ensure 100% dispensing accuracy for all medications dispensed from pharmacy
-Provide appropriate counseling information and patient directions for all medications dispensed
-Prioritize and multi-task to complete processing for time-sensitive medications
-Consult and share expertise across broader Nurx team regarding best practices, medications, side effects, generic equivalents, and pharmacy processesCollaborate in the development of processes and best practices for Pharmacy operations
-Assist in and oversee various pharmacy operations such as inventory, ordering, packaging medication
-Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance


-Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelors from ACPE accredited program
-Registered Pharmacist in NY
-Must not be included in List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) by OIG
-Minimum 2 years of retail pharmacy experience
-Counseling experience in preventive medicine or women’s health
-Passion for reducing barriers to healthcare, especially contraceptives and PrEP
-Flexible and adaptable to work in high-change, non-traditional pharmacy environment

Applicant may also:

-Speak Spanish
-Have experience with SuiteRx
-Be a women’s health or LGBTQ advocate
-Be licensed in other states, or interested in obtaining licenses in additional states
-Be open to occasional travel to San Francisco
