The Editorial team is at the core of everything New York Media does. Our team strikes the perfect balance of content that’s smart and funny so that our readers know everything they need to know to navigate a fast-moving culture, whether that’s up-to-date information on political events, cultural developments, fashion trends, or the latest scientific breakthroughs.

As part of the Cut, the Health/Psychology Writer’s primary responsibility will be exploring and explaining the ways we relate to our minds and bodies. The ideal candidate will keep an eye on wellness trends, but  they’ll keep on top of the latest medical news, too -- and they should be able to do both with humor and voice. This person should come equipped with curiosity and sharp ideas, and they should be comfortable writing quickly, and a lot (multiple times per day).

Job Responsibilities

    • Write 2-3 posts daily
    • Stay current on psychology and health news (both wellness & medicine)
    • Be able to interpret current events through the lens of health and/or psychology
    • Other responsibilities as assigned by manager

Role Requirements

    • 1-3 years of journalism experience covering health and/or psychology
    • Comfortable with fast-paced environment; ideally, experience writing multiple times per day
    • Able to generate ideas and take assignments
    • Familiarity with the Cut's voice & sensibility
