This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI eligible Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

CI Poly required after the selected candidate has started employment.

Our client is looking for a UI Software Engineer (Associate/Experienced) in Herndon/Leesburg, VA; or Mesa, AZ that will support the Advanced Mission Management (AMM) software engineering organization supporting the Satellite Operations & Ground Systems (SOGS) program execution. 

The AMM organization executes software development across multiple program domain areas to deliver analytics, planning, scheduling, command & control, and mission management capabilities focused on ground user and mission needs. These software systems are integral to the daily execution of stakeholders’ missions helping to solve intelligence and DoD war fighter strategies.

The organization is seeking a hardworking, motivated, and creative UI software developer to engineer new front end solutions and capabilities for agile software programs. This engineer will assist with development of software systems developed on cloud infrastructures following modern DevSecOps and Agile execution process. The customer’s needs require state-of-the-art, software-intensive systems to efficiently and optimally task, plan, exploit, and disseminate data for hardware platforms (e.g. satellites, ground systems, etc.) for maximum stakeholder value.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced level software engineers.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assist with UI software design, coding and, unit/integration testing of customer desired features/user stories
    • Involved with the development & modifications to new and existing software products
    • Contribute to the creation of new distributed components and interactions that align with the future system architecture requirements
    • Coordinate with peers, leadership, management, and product/customer stakeholders to successfully accomplish software tasking to meet roadmap acceptance criteria
    • Help define, execute, and improve software development processes, procedures, and best practices to drive engineering efficiencies, high quality, and increased team productivity

Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other technical science degree
    • 1+ years’ experience in frontend development using JavaScript/TypeScript with a JavaScript-based framework such as React, Angular, or Vue
    • 1+years’ experience in web development and related technologies including HTML and CSS
    • 1+ years' experience with Git or other DVCS

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with React Hooks, development of custom hooks, and React Context
    • Experience in React supporting frameworks including Redux and React Router
    • Experience with Node.js, Express applications, promise-based asynchronous coding, and web sockets, and familiarity with methods of communication with backend services using these tools
    • Experience with Material UI library and Material Design principles
    • Experience with the D3 and Cesium libraries for data visualization applications
    • Experience implementing frontend unit tests with test frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library or similar tools
    • Familiarity with supporting tools such as npm, yarn, Webpack, and Babel
    • Ability to analyze the existing design and develop applications that fit within and expand on this design
    • Familiarity with micro-frontend modular implementations
    • Familiarity with agile software development practices, processes, and tools (e.g. SAFe, JIRA, Confluence)
    • Experience with DevSecOps practices such as continuous integration and development tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab Runners)
    • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Typical Education/Experience Level 2 Associate:

    • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Typical Education/Experience Level 3 Experienced:

    • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
