We need a super flexible, hands on all round marketing wiz. Being truly driven by activation across the UK we want you to keep an eye on growth and performance at all times.

You will take a senior role with a team that will test new ideas for PR, events, comms, landing pages, surveys, strategies and sign-up journeys. Proving what works and what doesn't with objective data rather than jumping on every new trend. We react swiftly to new opportunities and often call for all hands on deck to make magic happen when the right opportunity arises.

What you'll do

    • You will be a strong link between the development team and the activation team, building new stories and growing demand for wind generation across the UK
    • You’ll be reactive to meaningful opportunities for growth - we’re customer-centric through and through - this is relevant for Octopus Energy Generation
    • You’ll have access to a wealth of data from our digital attribution platform, licensed databases and our very own industry-disrupting platform, Kraken, to help identify audiences and design new advertising strategies. 
    • You’ll monitor and make changes to any activation that works or doesn’t work, it’s your call based on data! 
    • You’ll have the freedom to test your own ideas and work on them from concept to completion yourself. 
    • You'll be working for a company that’s fighting climate change. We’re the largest investor in solar generation in the UK, and are funding wind and anaerobic digestion. As a supplier, we're helping people to use greener technology and renewable energy to drive the UK towards a lower carbon future. Everyone at Octopus plays a significant role in making a zero-carbon future a reality

What you'll need

    • An open mind for learning new, unconventional ways of doing things. If not all of the above ‘what you’ll do’ makes much sense, that’s OK we’ll train you the Octopus way. 
    • A test and iterate mindset. We don’t expect you to have all the answers, but we do expect you to explore and find them. 
    • You’ll need to be very customer facing and cool with picking up the phone or jumping on the train to see a customer and understand more about how they work and how Octopus can help. 
    • For activations you’ll need to be great at presenting and communicating, ideally with some experience of running events too and simply bringing things to life across all channels.  
    • You’ll need to be open to working outside conventional methods - we do stuff differently at Octopus and aren’t afraid of getting things wrong to help find the right answers. For this reason, you’ll need to be vigilant and proactive in spotting weak areas and suggesting solutions and improvements. You’ll also thrive outside your comfort zone.
