We are seeking an experiencedProduction Software / Systems Integration Manager to join
our growing team at Octopus Energy’s heat pump factory in Portadown, Northern Ireland.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our heat pump
manufacturing facility. As an integral member of the team, you will be responsible for
facilitating the smooth running of the heat pump production lines, and integrating the
production facility with other software and systems across warehousing, inventory and
quality.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6+ years of experience within similar
environments/projects.

What you'll do

    • Integrate MRP-ERP Systems: Your primary focus will be on integrating MRP-ERP systems to enhance our production line efficiency. You'll ensure seamless data flow between our manufacturing processes and business systems.
    • Develop and maintain software solutions and Business Intelligence systems: Utilise your expertise (in, e.g., MSSQL and Python) to develop, maintain, and optimise our production line software. This includes backend processes and automation.
    • REST API Development: Design and implement REST APIs to enable robust communication between different software systems and services.
    • Web Front-End Development: Create intuitive web interfaces that provide our teams with easy access to essential production data and controls.
    • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with production, engineering, and IT teams to understand requirements and deliver effective software solutions that drive operational excellence.
    • Support and Troubleshoot: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for integrated systems, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of issues.

What you'll need

    • Expertise in MRP-ERP Integration: Clear understanding of how MRP/ERP is used in all aspects of business operations, with experience in selecting and implementing MRP/ERP systems, and experience of using APIs of any major ERP system
    • Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills with a proven track record in any programming language (Python, Javascript, C), web server development/admin skills, and API programming experience
    • Working knowledge of BI solutions (eg PowerBI, Tableau), database administration for a DBMS (eg MSSQL, PostgreSQL, mySQL, etc), and database-driven web applications
    • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a knack for troubleshooting and optimising integrated systems.
    • Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and departments.
    • Location Flexibility: Ability to travel regularly (weekly) to Portadown, with a preference for candidates based in or willing to relocate to Northern Ireland.
