We’re looking for a Junior Accountant to help us run a slick, efficient support function that enables our Sales and Customer Service teams to provide great service to customers. You will work within the Financial Control team, and will be a key link between Financial Control and the wider Finance Operations team.
Your role will include the preparation of monthly reconciliations for Octopus EV, reporting on variances as required and working with the team, the wider company and funders to rectify variances.
You will be working closely with the business to assist with day-to-day financial management and identifying any commercial risks or opportunities to improve the business’ financial controls and internal processes.
We need someone that has a great eye for detail, is self-driven to own accounts and processes and is always looking for ways for us to improve as the business grows.
What you'll do...
- Performance of reconciliations and timely reporting of highlighted variances
- Assist with month end reporting, including journals and financial analysis
- Assist with tracking reporting on vehicles purchased on a weekly basis
- Work closely with our Finance Operations team to resolve reconciliation issues
- Help manage creditor and debtor ledgers and deal with any queries regarding payments or receipts
- Assist with audit and tax queries
- Identify and assist with implementation of new processes and process improvements
What you'll need...
- Experience working in a Finance team, preferably within financial services
- Experience using Excel, accounting software (NetSuite) and data tools would be preferable
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proactive attitude towards your work
- Interest in or progress towards completing an Accounting Qualification (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) preferable
