Kraken powers some of the most innovative global developments in energy.

We’re a technology company focused on creating a smart, sustainable energy system. From optimising renewable generation, creating a more intelligent grid and enabling utilities to provide excellent customer experiences, our operating system for energy is transforming the industry around the world in a way that benefits everyone.

It’s a really exciting time in energy. Help us make a real impact on shaping a better, more sustainable future.

We’re looking for a senior designer to join the marketing team to help us grow Kraken globally. Your work will support the exciting campaigns we’re working on around the world, using your skills to help us communicate all the amazing things about Kraken. There’s lots going on here, we’re growing quickly, so need an all rounder who’s comfortable working on lots of different projects.

Your work will include website design, digital advertising, event collateral, billboard campaigns, brand development and much more, but hopefully that paints the picture of how diverse the role will be.

We’re not a marketing team in the traditional sense, we work closely with teams across the business to truly understand how we can get more people using our technology and create real change in the industry. We also don’t use agencies, honestly, everything is produced in house so you’ll get the chance to work on some really big and exciting projects.

Kraken is disrupting the industry, and we take the same approach with our creative. We're looking for someone who’s happy to really get into understanding the industry, our product and our customers to create work that sets Kraken apart.

What you'll need

    • Strong experience in design, ideally working or collaborating closely with marketing
    • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
    • Experience in brand identity
    • Happy to get stuck into any project and don’t mind taking on a challenge
    • A desire to design stuff that really connects with our customers and increases engagement
    • An interest in sustainability and green technology
    • Available for a full time position based in London with at least 3 days a week in the office (it’s a really great office so we know you’ll love it)

Nice to have

    • Experience in animation
    • Experience in product design, UX and UI
    • Experience working at a technology company

What else to know

    • Wondering what the salary for this role is? Just ask us! On a call with one of our recruiters it's something we always cover as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary. The reason why we don't advertise is because we honestly have a degree of flexibility and would never want salary to be a reason why someone doesn't apply to Octopus - what's more important to us is finding the right octofit!

If you're reading this and grinning, please apply! There are huge challenges to tackle, and we need amazing people who are keen to get stuck in.

If this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you.

Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire. Across Octopus, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success.
